[ Weiss has been keeping to herself for a few days, really only having spoken with Ruby and Jaune so far.. but this situation has come to a climax. She can't take it anymore. She has to do something! Even if it means acknowledging the other people who may or may not actually be pirates. ]

I'm going to ask you all a question and one of you had better have an answer! Is there anywhere in this place to sleep that isn't full of smelly drunkards? Maybe a place with an ice machine that looks a little more like it's got zero chance of bugs.

[ Weiss's tone is dead serious. She has absolutely no tolerance for this quality of rooming. Bunk beds, dorm rooms? Fine. They're clean, warm, and more than comfortable at the top school for huntresses and hunters. They definitely aren't situated over a noisy bar. The other option was to actually get a ship and she wasn't going to deal with a tiny little dinghy-- that would probably be worse than the room. ]

I know my standards can be a little high sometimes... but there is absolutely no way I'm staying in a place that's not even fit for animals for one more night. [ The last three words are punctuated to emphasize her point. ]

Who are the "we" you're talking about?

[ She sounds interested, of course. Smelly drunks and bugs not being present? It's a plus! ]

We're a crew of mostly anti-pirates. [And also a creepy dark mage. And some magical girls. Actually it's more like a crew of magical girls + Smoker who as a marine will never be a pirate, whatever.]

"Mostly" anti-pirates?

[ How can you be only mostly anti-piracy? Weiss isn't quite sure exactly what's going on here, and she knows that not everything is quite as black and white as she once thought it was, but she's pretty sure that you either are or aren't in favor of piracy. ]

The crew itself does not support or engage in piracy, but due to the Navy's refusal to acknowledge off-worlders as anything else, they aren't letting us sign up to help them either.

In any event, should bounty-hunting become an option, we will do our best to support the rightful law enforcement of this realm.

I like the idea, but I have to discuss it with Ruby and Jaune before I agree to anything.

[ Though she's fully capable of going off on her own and she knows it, she doesn't really want to leave them. At the very least, she's got it in her head that this man is someone she can count on to help uphold the law. That puts him in a good light in her eyes. ]

For what it's worth, I think your standards are perfectly reasonable under the current circumstances.

Thank you. It seems like not wanting to be a dirty pirate is something a lot of people are scoffing at around here-- despite that none of you have been here for more than a few months apparently!

[ She doesn't get it. A few months and people are telling her that she's being a child for wanting basic amenities. ]

None of my crew are pirates, and I've been here since September. I've been a marine officer for the last eighteen years however, which seems to mean nothing to anyone.

My crew excepted.

Well it means something to me. If I do end up joining a crew, yours is under consideration if the offer's there. I'd be bringing others with me if I did, but they're good people too.

[A startled blink, which he tries not to show in his voice, but he's not great at hiding his emotions.] Thank you Miss Schnee.

You're welcome. Anyone with that much experience in serving and protecting should be recognized for what they've done for everyone. What was your rank? [ She'll call him it respectfully at least. There are definitely certain people who she respects as authority figures, even if she can be difficult with a lot of people. ]
