Have you spoken with Mister Gibbs and Link with regards to the original captain and Link's goddess?

The Hope of the Seas lost its former and first captain a little while ago. We didn't notice anything unusual before this unfortunate event occurred.

A total of seven people so far. It's starting to get annoying.

We lost someone just recently, on Empieza. It sounds like we're not the only ones.

[Still no rest from the chill, it seems. Itachi has taken to crossing his arms over his chest to keep them from shaking. Even moving about the ship to keep his blood pumping strongly doesn't seem to do anything.

Seeing Sasuke's entry, he automatically seeks him out. When he finds him, he leans lightly against the nearest wall and just watches him for a while.]

Nothing really strange they seemed to be going about their business one day then gone the next. I had briefly wondered if something had happened to one but death doesn't seem permanent here.

I've heard about the previous captain. Link said nothing was out of the ordinary before she vanished.

Do you think there's any likelihood someone board simply eliminated them?

Over a span of how much time?

It appears to be a common situation, but without much to link them. Are you sure they didn't just wander off on Empieza?

[He's clenching and unclenching the hand he's been writing with to try and get some feeling back into it, speaking to the journal in the meantime, when he notices the presence of another person and glances up -- only to be abruptly deeply embarrassed about the ridiculousness of talking to a book.

Mm. It seems to match what else I've heard. It's rather bizarre.

I waited around town for her for more than a day and she never bothered to show up. I guess it's possible she got tired of our crew and decided to go off with someone else, but I haven't heard about her leaving from the captain or anything. I dunno.

Strange though--do other people just disappear on the open ocean? Without using the Nav or falling overboard or anything?

You weren't here for Halloween then. Someone got touched by a ghost and keeled over dead. Turned up alive after the ghosts went away

No. That's impossible. Unless someone managed to sneak on board and leave without any of us noticing. ...But it seems pretty unlikely too.

Why do you ask?

It's a problem, if any of us can vanish without warning. The only thing in common seems to be that no one has seen it happen in person.

That would depend on whether you were close enough to land for a boat to cross, or for someone to walk on the water.

The ship I am on has had two disappearances, neither with any warning.

I assume you also don't think it likely that it was foul play.

It seems to be the case that people just disappear off the ships, yes, and without using the Navs. Who besides the crews would know the position of each ship?

[Itachi's gaze on the book prompts some weird childish instinct to turn and stash it into the rest of his meagre belongings, as if the damn journal is a toy he's not meant to be playing with.

Sasuke forces himself to focus on keeping his hands still instead of trembling with the cold, turning back to Itachi with as neutral an expression as he can manage.]
