Calling all able and willing ships.
Since it has been apparent that multiple ships will be raiding Isla Empieza, I find it imperative that we have a proper strategy. Even with all of us, we are outnumbered and, very likely, outgunned.
The strategy I have proposed is using magics and other talents to create a foggy mass, possibly stormlike in appearance, that will disguise our approach and fool the Navy into not firing a single shot until we are already behind them and at the advantage.
Though I am open to other ideas. Anything beyond a full frontal assault has some merit, but if you're going to suggest some suicidal blazing guns routine, I'm going to politely ask you to shove it and let the real strategists talk.
So. Suggestions?

Our goals are entirely at odds!
What you're suggesting is completely sabotaging any chances we could have had to diplomatically speak with the navy and convince them that offworlders aren't a threat.
Tch..... [Just a growl. There's a reason he hasn't been speaking up through almost all of this.]

This Navy? Does not care. They are not interested in diplomacy. They have displayed an attitude that presumes we are not at war, but rather a pest to be exterminated. Rats do not have the luxury of negotiation with the home they have invaded.
Therefore, our only recourse for survival, so that we might collect the shards and return to our homes where you may continue whatever your morals guide you to, is to fight. And yes, that implies that some of these naval officers and sailors will die.
If you cannot find yourself aligning your morals with the reality we are faced with, I will not blame you for walking away. But you cannot be a part of this operation at all if you cannot set your scruples aside. It will only put the rest of us in danger.

And correct, "marines" are the term for my world, and yes I realize that these are not my marines. But not you nor anyone else here understand anything about them either! You wish to fight them because as far as you know they wish to fight you, but at least they're not hunting you down yet for that purpose.
No one knows why they're closing off the island other than basic fear, but however little they're willing to discuss terms now, they'll be that much less willing after they're attacked. Or is it you who judges them so inhumanly?
We will not help murder anyone.
So far in this world, outsiders seem to get brought back from the dead, but we do not know that the same is true for natives here and you cannot assume they won't negotiate when you never give them a chance, plotting instead the best ways to kill them!
If we are rats here, we're rats who started off by killing, stealing, and being just as unable to contact the owners of this "house" as rats are to a human. I don't intend to stay in that position, nor to rush headlong into an obvious trap with the purpose of murdering someone who could still otherwise be an ally.

So I will ask one last thing of you... Do you intend to fight against those that are heading to Isla Empezia.

And I will never work alongside certain pirates.
