THIS WORLD SUCKS!!!

[For someone that's been forced to write in a diary for the past seven years, Luke's handwriting sure does look like cheagle scratch. It doesn't help that he's fed up and annoyed, which only serves to make his already crappy handwriting that much worse.]

I used to love the ocean, but I can't stand it any more! All we ever do is sail over here, get attacked by giant moths, sail over here, lose some crew members in a fog, sail over here, pick up some brats. It's so damn boring, and now we're going back to that stupid island we started out from again!? Even though everyone said we should get off of there as soon as possible?!

I hate this! I want something different to do!

I wish I could see it! I love looking at pictures from fashion shows and things like that! I even design outfits for Galax avatars, but I haven't tried making real clothes yet.

Galax avatars? What're those?

Hmmm, how can I explain it? I guess it's kind of like a game and your avatar is your game piece, but you can customize it to look however you want! Some people like to make it look like themselves and other people like to go crazy and look silly or scary or whatever they feel like! I mostly make cute dresses and some of them have gotten pretty popular!

[He's trying to imagine these big game pieces fighting each other on a giant board now, kind of like chess.]

That's... that's really cool!

Isn't it?! Using these journals to talk to each other is fun, too, but I kinda miss doing challenges and playing games with people and things like that.

Man, that would be cool to see... but I guess that's not going to happen here, hunh?

[Bummer.]

And yeah, the journals are kinda cool, but it's kinda weird to be talking to people and not being able to see them.

[There are no phones on Auldrant.]

I guess they don't have phones where you're from, huh? I'm used to talking to people like this, just not with a book.

[While she's been talking, the wheels in her head have been spinning.]

Hey, I wonder if we could figure out how to play games over the journal! I mean, Boris has his riddles, so maybe we could figure out something!

Hn? Like what kind of games?

[He's interested! For the moment anyway.]

Hmmm, I don't know! I'm gonna have to think about it. Do you have any ideas? I guess things like riddles and trivia and things like that would be easy, but there must be some sort of game we could play together. Everyone is so far apart, so things like scavenger hunts might be hard to do...not impossible, though...

Well, we can write on these things too and everyone can see it... maybe we can figure out some kind of game that way.

Yeah, we should ask everyone else what they think, too.

Oh! And since everyone can see what we write, we could probably do things like draw pictures together! Like, one person starts and then other people add to it! I've drawn pictures with people before, but we just took turns instead of working together.

Hunh... that doesn't sound so bad, but... well, I can't draw that well.

No problem! You could start the picture with something easy!

Er... okay, how about something like this?

[He fumbled around a moment looking for something to write with, before a bizarre mess of scribbles appeared on the journal. It was supposed to be a cheagle, but... well... Luke can't draw to save his life.]

Is it a bunny? It looks kind of like a bunny. Or maybe a vase with flowers in it. It's very abstract! Oh! Is it a turkey? No...it's a castle!

[She can keep guessing all day.]

G-geeze! It's a cheagle!

What's a cheagle?

[No wonder she couldn't figure out what it was.]

Oh, they're... er...

[Luke frowned down at his journal.]

They're supposed to be sacred creatures on my world, but they're really annoying.

Really?! What do they look like? [Because she certainly can't tell from that picture.]

Um... well...

[He tried again, managing to keep his hand a little steadier as he redrew the cheagle.]

So something a little like this?

Yeah, something like that!

I bet they're cute! Are they cute?

[From the sketch, it looks kind of like PaiPai with bunny ears and that would have to be THE CUTEST.]

No way! They're annoying! And they let out these annoying little, 'Mieu mieu!' noises!

[...he may have made his voice high-pitched to match Mieu's voice.]

What, like kitties?! That's super cute!! I wanna see one now. Maybe there's a Cheagle Island! Let me know if you find one.
