[The handwriting on the journal page is a little messy and sharp, but still readable. It's also done entirely in orange marker.]

Let me see if I got this shit straight here. We're brought here by some asshole and we're stuck until we can find the Shikon Jewel [There's a scribble line through the words, but it's still readable.] Piedra Roja gem, which has been broken into shards across the Seven Seas.

Am I the only one who finds this all annoyingly cliche? This is the part where someone would bitch and moan about having better things to be doing back home, but complaining isn't going to be getting anyone anywhere.

So here's the deal. I'm getting my own ship and setting sail on this bitch, anyone around port up to joining me? Yes, that would make me the Captain and that's non-negotiable. I don't care how much or how little experience you have so long as you want to find this gem as much as I do. What we don't know we can easily learn, so the only problem will be if you're a fucking douchebag who doesn't know how to take sensible orders. I know there's going to be some trust issues here, but the more people go off on their own the less likely it'll be to gather as many shards as possible. It's not like we have much of a fucking say in the matter, so anyone up for it?

And for those of you who've been here longer, any information on any progress that's been made would be appreciated.

An island in the south was partially burned down. Yuezhong, or some similar name. I'm not sure if they Navy is still hovering about there, since they blame one of us for the fire. Of course.

That information is still foggy. The shard was found just before the fog rolled in, and the curse began. I'm afraid I don't know which crew has gained the shard. It won't be too difficult to ask the right people, or simply look back into the journal. [Someone is likely dumb enough to blab about it.]

I think the shard will go into the wrong hands regardless. The fact that we're broken up like this only makes those seeking the shards more desperate to be the first to assemble it, and the desperate do vicious things. My crew and I, however, don't have much inclination to search for it. How are we to know it is as valuable as they say? How are we to know it is an actual magical object that will grant us any wish we desire? What guarantee do we have of not being double crossed?

[Hence, her not caring so much about the search.]

Look back to the 22nd of October. That is the crew that has the shard, but their name isn't mentioned. Their names are, however. Best to look for this Haruka person.

[Is that a 'Harukitty' nickname? Wow.]

Spying on the whole of us? Commendable, really. Not everyone can be trusted to do what's right. Not even my crew. It's not as if we're the best examples of right or wrong, anyway. You'll not have to worry about making an enemy of us. The same goes for our discretion.

I do hope the crew you manage to assemble won't give you too much trouble, although giving them a bit of Hell would be in order. A necessity in order to grasp those shards.

Precisely my point.

I don't plan to relay this to anyone else. There are simply some things that are on a need to know basis. This may or may not fall under that category depending on whom you bring aboard.
