[Rose was on the Moon, taking a break from all the centaur stuff and doing her chores, when she found one of the mechanical birds on board. She, of course, listened to its song, enjoying the tune until the end. What came after the song, caused her to go pale after hearing a voice she thought she would never hear again. It shook her up quite a bit.

[She tries to keep her voice even when she makes the post, despite what she is feeling.]

Since strange things have been appearing as of late, has anyone else found a mechanical bird? It sings quite nicely, but after listening to it, I am not sure if I want to throw it out or not. If you have found one and listened, you may know what I am talking about, but I suspect what it says will vary from person to person.

[Rose can be found on the deck of the Sun, leaning against the railing stilling holding the bird she found. Every now and then she will list to it sing again, and if someone is close enough, they can hear a man's voice come from it at the end of the song.]

The voice sounded like someone who was very dear to me.

[That's really all she is going to say to someone she doesn't know well. Talking about Zieg is still hurts some.

[She lightly tosses the bird the short distance between their hands.]

[by the time he hears that, it's too late, he's gonna do it. Oh well, he'll suffer whatever happens.

The song isn't all that interesting, but what follows is the voice of a small girl, sounding a bit stern like she's berating him for something. Zoro goes completely still and blank, though his hand on the bird tightens a bit. He's absolutely silent when it ends, and tosses the bird back over the gap.]

....I see.

[She easily catches the bird. The distance between the ships was too far for her to hear the voice that came from the bird, but based on his body language it confirms her assumption that the voice would be different for each person.]

Like I said over the journals, I am not sure if I want to throw it out or not.

[he nods, because he caught the journal before coming out on deck. Heard the rumors.]

Depends on how much you want to cling to the past, I guess. I've heard it for myself and I don't need to hear it again.

[She nods some, looking at the little bird thoughtfully.]

I suppose I tend to hold onto the past longer than I should. Though, for the longest time, that was all I had.

Some people need that. Some don't. So I guess it's up to you.

That is one way to view it.

Maybe it'll disappear at midnight and save you the trouble of deciding. Y'know, since mostly everything so far seems to be a one-day thing.

Yet those horns that appeared yesterday are still around.

[don't remind him!]

[Her ears still hurt from who ever started playing one of those things badly over the journals. She smiles very slightly as looked at the bird.]

Perhaps I will hold onto it for a little while longer.

It's all yours. [his smile is fleeting, it's there then gone. He doesn't need to cling to what he heard.]

[She nods some before turning back towards him.]

So, are you enjoying this bizarre island?

[Time for a change of subject before things get too awkward, if they haven't already.]

Haven't set foot on it. [and in fact he is not sporting any animal legs to be seen] Figured somebody had to stay back and guard the ship, just in case.

[Hey, at least the animal legs disappear when back on a ship. Or at least that's what happens to her anyway.]

And you decided not to take turns with someone?

Nah. I'll let the rest of 'em have fun or do whatever. It's fine.

[with added bonus of not having to deal with the weirdness himself. He's had enough weird lately.]

And then you can just let them deal with the strangeness of the island on their own.

[She gives a slight smile, not really blaming him for wanting to stay on board his ship.]

I am Rose, by the way.

[His voice sounds familiar but she is fairly sure they never introduced themselves before.]

They can handle it, I'm not worried.

[lifts his chin in a manly nod] Roronoa Zoro. How long you been with the Spades?

Around half a year by now I believe. Ace invited me to join when I first arrived in this world.

What about you with the Strawhats?

[for some reason he smiles]

More than three years. Counting our time at home, I mean.

Ah, so a good portion of your crew came from the same world?

Yeah. Luffy's our captain at home as well as here. Me, the cook, and Robin anyway.

Did having your companions make getting used to this place easier?

[raises an eyebrow]

What says I'm used to this place?

Good point. But I imagine having people you know from your own world would make things not so bad.
