Voice Action for the SH

[he is sitting on one of the hermit crab homes with a violin case on his lap]

Brook is gone.

I don't wanna stop missing people, but it's hard. There's a some people I'm gonna see again but a lot of people I don't know.

But even if I'm gonna see 'em again or not, missing them hurts. Like before I was rubber and tried to swallow an orange.

But I don't wanna hurt. I wanna be happy.

So what do you do to be happy?

[anything can help at this point. He pulls the violin out and plays a few screechy notes. It's a tribute. A bad one. But a tribute nontheless]

Course it's important, that's why you wanted a musician in the first place!

If just anybody could play an instrument then you wouldn't need a musician, right?

Musicians are about more than playing stuff, Zoro. [he pulls out the bow and inspects the booger on the end] They know all the songs and how to play them. But I can play a song and not be one right?

[he shakes the bow and the booger goes flying off, sticking to the shell of another crab which looks instantly annoyed]

Something tells me that what you'd play wouldn't exactly be a 'song,' if you don't know how to play.

[wow, gross. Though you got good air on that one...]

As long as you don't break it.

[he's taking that as a "go ahead!" So:]

Yosh. Okay. [fits the violin under his chin] Song for Zoro. Title: Your Hair Looks like Boogers Sometimes.

[SCREEEEEEEEECH]

[is it the mangling of the poor violin strings or the title of the song? Either way, Zoro doesn't let him get three seconds into it before reaching out and thwapping him in the back of the head]

Don't do that! That's awful!

[whacked but it stops him playing]

[he stares at it as if Luffy were offering him a large and smelly dead fish. Sort of like the time Sanji tried to get him to help cook]

I don't know how.

[you know those are difficult words for him to even say, Luffy]

[he looks. Then gets it. Then nods]

You don't know how to not get lost either. [he sets the violin between them just in case Zoro changes his mind] And you snore a lot and sometimes you're grumpy for weird reasons.

But it's okay.

Yep. [or so he thinks this very second. Ask him another day and he probably will wonder why you're even asking such a weird question but will think about it and then get distracted by something more interesting. But you know that by now]

It's not a problem, right? Zoro is Zoro.

[he snores more than he thinks he does, at least]

Nah. It's not like I can do anything about it anyway.

[he sets his hand on Luffy's head and pushes his hat down over his eyes]

We'll all just keep moving forward. We have to. There's no time to stop and stand still.

Moving forward isn't that fun if people keep leaving.

[he would though because he had to and he wanted to, but it was getting less fun because there were less people to share it with]

Then we gotta do what we gotta to do leave here, so we don't have to keep missing people.

[he catches himself, then, and lets out a small groan of wishing to take it back. He's not in a hurry to say goodbye to the others, and never see them again.]

I mean. We'll see Brook again.

[it was as much as Zoro could say. It was hard on him missing people since Zoro wasn't the kind who could attach to others easily. Nakama were all he had.

And it was hard but... but that was just the way it was. You had people and sometimes you lost them. Even if they promised they wouldn't leave. Even if they promised they wouldn't die.

Here at least he would see Brook again. And he might see Elsa and Celestia and Pinkie again... but he might not. He didn't even know if he would see Bepo again.

But... that just meant you had to have fun with the people you had while you had them and then you could never regret not doing everything you could when you were with them.

He stands, takes off the hat and puts it on Zoro's head. An unspoken promise of a lot of things, but mostly, and always, that he'd never not do anything he could to keep moving forward with his most precious nakama... and enjoy it when he could]

Let's go fight the lake monster.

[and he jumps off, taking the violin with him so he can put it back where he found it]

[he knows what that means. Being entrusted with the hat fills him with warmth. His confidence in Luffy is never misplaced.

Zoro adjusts the brim a little and then springs up after him]

There's a lake monster? And here I thought this island would be boring.

It's really big, too! I hope it's got really sharp teeth.

[a beat]

I bet it's tasty.

Oh, have you seen it? I haven't really explored much, this time.

[he falls into step alongside his captain, available for anything. That's right, anything.]

[he nods. He has seen it once or twice]

You mean you haven't gotten lost here yet. shishishi

[bumps against his shoulder]

By the way, Zoro, you know a lot about people, right?

[of course he did. Or at least he knew people in a way that Luffy could get]

Of course I haven't gotten lost! [except maybe in the process of stumbling on Luffy...]

...hm? I guess. Why?

[he is fairly observant, and likes to think he has a good read on people. He's only wrong sometimes]

[that makes him laugh again. Zoro, you are so dumb. But then he thinks, putting his hands behind his head and kicking a pebble absently, waiting for the words to come out]

Why is Elsa mad at Anna? What is she scared of? I want her to be free and to have fun like we do but I dunno how.

Is she? I didn't know about that.

[tunnel vision, really]

She's not having fun being one of us? [hrm.] It's not because I forgot people, I hope. We talked it out, I thought she understood...

I dunno. I don't think so. I wanted to know why she got mad when I kissed Anna and she said Anna took things way from her. Even now. [which made no sense]

Maybe they just need to get into a really good fight. [that always worked with his brothers] But Anna's not here right now. [so that was out]

And I think I made her sad. It's really annoying.

[he contemplates that, comparing it against her reactions to him and the cook.]

Don't get me wrong, I like Elsa a lot. But she's knotted up about a lot of things, stuff from back home that I dunno if we can really understand since we've never seen her kingdom. It's probably something like that.

You'd know more about how brothers and sisters are supposed to be than I would. I never had either.

Who cares about her Kingdom. That's over there, isn't it? We can't punch anyone to save it. [and that made him annoyed. He wanted punching to be the way to solve it because that was what he was good at]

Maybe I can ask Ace. I don't think he'd get jealous if I kissed anyone. Only if I ate his meat.

[he laughs at the thought] And if you ate his meat he'd just kick your ass, anyway.

You know, most of the time when someone's jealous, it's because someone's got the exact same thing they want. [there's a moment's twitch of his lip. He has indeed known the flash of jealousy, when Keimi threw herself at the cook...] Or someone's trying to take something that's theirs.
