Hello again, friends in the journal.

We have made landfall at the most incredible island yet. Nowhere have I been where the sands have been so white and clean, ready for a nice relaxing day at the beach. Among the trees there are creatures of various sizes and in the centre a lush, fertile field with large beasts roaming at their leisure.

Having gotten rid of our chickens, our boat has been very quiet, however there are a great deal of strange beasts here. I've never seen an elephant so small! I wouldn't think this island is warm enough, but it seems to be fine. Just imagine the cool breeze from the sea washing over you as-wait, is that a fish walking on land?!

[There's a little clunking noise as Sinbad races off to investigate, telling his story completely forgotten.]

[Somewhat later, he can be heard snapping his fingers.]

Right! I wanted to ask the Spades captain something. Vyse left his pet behind but also I would be interested in meeting you and your crew.

[The fact they've met before, he's forgotten.]

Well I suppose if you mean I was fishing illegally until they cracked down on it, then yes. But not really.

Why wasn't it allowed? The ocean is big enough for it.

Because the Emperor of Parthevia decided the seas belonged to him as much as the land did and if his citizens were able to make a living for themselves, that would ruin his plan to kill them all through military service.

[She can probably hear him rolling his eyes.]

Nah, I don't know what his problem is but it was a lot harder to get paid after that.

Doesn't matter to him. I agree with you, but since letting people fish openly on the water might allow them to happily feed their families, he can't have that.

When my dad was fishing, back then, they didn't care who fished on the waters.

I imagine his father died and he became emperor. I don't really know, but usually you're born into it, I think. A really stupid system of government.
