Hello again, friends in the journal.

We have made landfall at the most incredible island yet. Nowhere have I been where the sands have been so white and clean, ready for a nice relaxing day at the beach. Among the trees there are creatures of various sizes and in the centre a lush, fertile field with large beasts roaming at their leisure.

Having gotten rid of our chickens, our boat has been very quiet, however there are a great deal of strange beasts here. I've never seen an elephant so small! I wouldn't think this island is warm enough, but it seems to be fine. Just imagine the cool breeze from the sea washing over you as-wait, is that a fish walking on land?!

[There's a little clunking noise as Sinbad races off to investigate, telling his story completely forgotten.]

[Somewhat later, he can be heard snapping his fingers.]

Right! I wanted to ask the Spades captain something. Vyse left his pet behind but also I would be interested in meeting you and your crew.

[The fact they've met before, he's forgotten.]

Do you think we could arrange something?

I'm sure it's fine. [It seems like it would be.]

I'm not sure actually. [He pauses to consider that.] Perhaps we did meet already.

It's likely my subordinate will come with me. Is that a problem?

Hmmm. Well, I'm sure it's daring to want to get friendly with a crew that's famously dangerous.

[He said with a bored sort of tone--]

But, provided you don't start any trouble, we'll be willing to be good hosts.

Are you really? [He laughs.] Good thing I like danger then.

Hey, we'll see. Just try not to get thrown overboard!

[Another good laugh.] You'd have to catch me first!

[Sinbad isn't kidding, it's pretty hard to lay hands on him.]

I'll be respectful, no need to worry about that, but if you throw me overboard, I can swim. Couldn't be a fisherman if I couldn't swim.

Y'know, when somebody says 'don't get thrown overboard', it's more along the lines of a warning to not give us a reason to refuse you hospitality a second time around.

[Ah, Ace doesn't appreciate his sense of humour. No matter.]

There will be no reason, I guarantee it. I will be on my best behaviour.

See to it. I'm already up to my ears in problems and I'm not interested in educating anybody on the ways of the sea right now.

[He'd have been up for more jokes if he weren't speaking to 'Another Captain' at the moment. Unfortunately, Sinbad would be taken seriously unless he won Ace over for an alliance.]

[Educate him on the ways of the sea? That's awfully presumptuous of Ace to assume Sinbad doesn't know what he's doing. His skills have never actually been doubted before, not in this area. There are a lot of things that have been said about him in his lifetime, but this isn't one of them. It's annoying enough to make him twitch, but since he's asking a favour, running his mouth isn't going to help him here.]

It won't be a problem.
