[There's a rather deep sigh coming from the mermaid as she still seems to be fussing over something.]
I take it from what I have seen happen that being in another person's body is a rather common occurrence at the moment? Might I ask who currently resides within my own body? If it is indeed Keimi, might I request that you at the very least try to avoid leaving me with any long lasting bruises? I'm afraid I haven't moved much yet myself, as I am entirely unsure as to how to maneuver in your body with this... tail. Do you know where I can find your bubble making device... and how I would even use it without falling off of it?
Ugh...
Why do I keep feeling so faint?
[Guess who isn't with the program on mermaids needing to stay hydrated?]

Y-Yeah, Keimi's in your body... I'm keepin' an eye on you. Her. Uh... this is too weird...
Voice
I know how you feel darling... I don't even know if this ship can sail properly with so many of the crew being swapped for others. Don't neglect your violin practice while I'm gone though, and be sure to actually eat properly without me there to force you to eat right.
[She's seen how sickly you get Brady, and you can't raise chickens and take care of her body on a frail and breaking body.]
Voice
I DON'T NEED YOU TO WATCH ME EAT!
Sheesh... Shouldn't you be more concerned about yourself right now? You're not even human anymore!
Voice 1/2
SOMEONE NEEDS TO IF YOU WON'T!
2/2
While I may not be entirely human anymore, enough of me is human that I should still be able to manage, and I have observed Keimi's eating habits, and asked her about a few things in the past. Suffice it to say I should have matters well in hand on my end so long as you're able to hold the fort down at home.
[Yeeeeeeah... Maribelle is probably going to faint three or four times from dehydration on her tail before this is over. At least she's got tea now?]

Do you know if anyone has switched bodies who may have been on the same ship? Or are at least in close proximity to each other? Then perhaps we might be able to put my theory to the test.
no subject
... Actually, you kinda got off easy.

[Yup... too much information... too little water. Excuse her a moment as she sort of swoons on the floor here.]

[And we've entered Panic Mode.]

[Wow... that's rare... Maribelle didn't even like going into water that much. She wondered why the idea of water seemed so refreshing right now.]

WAIT A MINUTE!
D-Don't mermaids NEED water?!

[Siiiiigh]
Why does being human have to be so much easier?

[Okay he can handle losing you to a giant dragon of pure evil, but losing you to dehydration is NOT A THING THAT CAN HAPPEN, OKAY.]

[Also she totally doesn't want to! She'll smell like the sea!]

[You know, freshwater fish versus saltwater fish?]
I suppose it's worth a try for the time being... I just hope I do not bother anyone else who wanted to take a bath for a while.

Hngh... Sheesh, at least I don't have to prove you are you...

*SPLASH, SPLASH* HAPPY?!There a sigh of relief from Maribelle as she eases herself into a tub of water.]Well dear, I suspect that even if I was somehow put into a nearly inanimate sloth, I'd still be able to keep enough of a regal bearing that you'd be able to tell who I was.
no subject
You feelin' better?
[Voice]
[ooc: omfg that was weird for Marco to type to Maribelle because he loves Keimi and hasn't figured out that this is Maribelle of all things, but damn.]
[Voice]
[She pauses considering Marco's words for a moment.]
Hmm... I'm not sure how I should go about doing that. Diving into the Ocean seems a bit extreme and unsafe, especially since I'm not certain if I'd know how to swim with this cumbersome tail rather than my own legs.
[Or you know... Maribelle just isn't that great a swimmer being from a mostly landlocked nation.]
[Voice]
Do you have any friends on the ship with you?
I believe the Straw Hats have a pool of some kind for Keimi? Though I'm not sure how deep it is. Ask for the chef, Sanji, or their loud captain, and either should be able to point the right way.
[Voice]
[Yuuup, it took a while for it to dawn on Maribelle.]
Heh... how foolish of me. I suppose in my own distraction with having swapped bodies, I forgot that there may be those on this very ship who could help me with her more day to day routines. I just hope that there are enough of them that haven't also been swapped out of their bodies.
[Voice]
Good luck, yoi. I suppose my ship lucked out in keeping me, but that's not the case for everyone. If nothing else, hopefully Keimi herself can tell you the rest of what to do.
[Voice]
[Voice]
Who is this?
[Brusque business-like, but not super familiar with Marco? He's drawing a blank. Kyouya?]
[Voice]
Admittedly I know very little about how politics work in your world, so I had thought that the fishmen were not in need of defending from an outside source. Is it because fishmen do not populate as much as humans do, and are therefore rarer and outnumbered?
[Voice] 1/2
[This is that annoying girl he's always calling Miss Muffet and shit, isn't it?]
[If she says anything about justice from Keimi's lips he's going to murder someone.]
Are you an idiot or something? Or just incredibly naive?
[Voice] 2/2
[Okay okay, he needs to chill, and he knows it. Still, how the FUCK does this person act like a friend of Keimi, and not even know this much? His mind is truly boggled.]
Humans in general, are assholes.
They enslave and outcast anyone they deem different from themselves. Fishmen, mermaids, giants, monsters, pirates. Those born into war-zones, those born of a different species, just name it.
They're weaklings about it as well. The slavers and pirates go after the purposely easiest prey. Children, and the sick and injured, and then sell them to rich nobles so they can get their rocks off by watching the merkids swim around chased by piranha fish.
When the World Government in its infinite grand fucking dickery decided to try to close off the New World from pirates, the pirates' only route was through Fishman Island. Slavery is illegal in all countries of my world, but as the World Government encompasses none and all, they don't touch it, they look the other way and claim it's up to each country to enforce. And yet the world government royalty are allowed to do whatever they want. As such, humans deluded themselves that fishmen and merfolk are different from their own children, and decided to kidnap them and sell them back on the surface.
Not only were Fishman and merfolk isolated to a single island in the world where sunlight could still reach ten thousand feet below the surface, but they were also invaded by hundreds of jackass slavers and pirates who wanted to make a quick buck. There's not any single country in my world equipped to handle an influx like that, and the world government refused to help because it supplied oh... I don't know... A god damn distraction so their nobles wouldn't dig too hard into their ineffectual politics.
Shall I go into the conditions faced there or have you had enough?
[Voice] 1/3
[The cry of Aungish ringing out in Keimi's voice, makes the weight of it all just sink in even more to Maribelle.]
[Voice] 2/3
It is these very kinds of injustices, the nobility getting away with murder, and the eyes of the law turning the other way that I wish to correct. All... all I ever wanted was for everyone to be able to live a life free of this... this cruelty.
[Voice] 3/3
[Congratulations Marco... you've made Maribelle cry.]
[Voice] 1/2
[Okay....]
[Yeah...]
[He feels about... as flattened and shrunk as one can get.]
[It's not fair, her being in Keimi's body. If it was her own, he might even feel almost smug, but as Keimi...]
[He just made a mermaid cry and that puts him... wow officially having done something so bad even Blackbeard wouldn't go that far.]
[Ugh.]
I am truly sorry, [Lady for her title, but he needs a name to go with it. He can't bring himself to say 'Maribelle', and certainly not 'Justice' what was the other--? Right.] Lady Shepherdess.
[Voice] 2/2
[He knows he's just violently shaken because Namur is captured by slavers, and even when she'd heard it with her own ears that the navy were collaborating with the slavers, she still wanted to lecture him about taking lives, but then... wouldn't Queen Otohime have as well?]
[Maybe.]
[It's hard for him to feel anything CLOSE to the Queen's compassion when Namur is kidnapped. The one person he would least want to face enslavement for exactly this reason. But that is his own failure, not something to take out on naive girls. He's supposed to be stronger than that.]
Please don't waste anymore tears. I'm certainly not worth paying that much attention to.
[Or rather, he doesn't know if she's getting enough salt water, so he doesn't want it wasted, but whatever. Close enough.]
It's been a trying time for everyone, and I miss my brothers. It's made me crueler than I need to be.
[voice] 1/2
W-What?
[Did he... did the crazy yodeling bird of doom and rage actually... apologize to her?]
[Voice] 2/2
You may be a monster like you say you are... you may even take pride in throwing aside your humanity but... you're not so bad a monster to me.
[Voice]
I like being a monster.
I just made a mermaid cry, god damn it. If that's not monstrous even for monsters, nothing is.
voice
I'm all hooves right now so I wouldn't be much good searching but if your not to heavy I might be able to carry you some where.
Have you been in the girls cabin this whole time? I'm sure we can get you down to the galley.
[Faint? Harlock's convinced she hasn't had anything to eat or drink in a few days. A normal human would be dehydrated]

[Her voice is a mix of concern and relief. So she was right, Maribelle did have her body.]
There should be a day or two's worth of bubbly coral in my backpack. There's some extra ones in my workshop if you need more.
