How many people want to go back to their own worlds? Especially during things like this.
My world often had storms in the New World like this, so I can't say this makes me homesick.
Then again, anyone who knows me well knows I don't intend to ever go back.
I hate when people tell me this isn't my world. I mentioned that at the start of this summer too, and that my world has no use for monsters like us, so why not go where I please? Maybe that's a side effect of being a bird. I'll go wherever I want. But then whose world is it if not mine? People born here? Who decides that? Clearly Davy Jones thinks otherwise, whether we're puppets and pawns or not.
Everything is too familiar lately. I hate it.

Many people want to return to their worlds for their own selfish reasons. And that doesn't exclude me either. People refer to this world as 'not theirs' because most of them don't sail the seas, and even if they do, it's just for fun. Hence why the drop others in the same bag as them.
If you don't want to go back, that's your decision and no one should interfere with that. Opinions are overrated and seldom useful.
[Private] Voice
Thank you, eh?
[He means it too.]
[On the one hand he wants to call everyone who wants to go home, to run away from this adventure cowards, but in truth, isn't he more the coward? But really, does it even matter?]
There's something I can't have at home, I can't even really begin to understand those who wish to go back so firmly.
[A reluctant grunt.] Those that also believe others need to return as well.
And embarrassingly, I find my conviction is a lot shakier when I feel so much like a bird outside a window looking in.

Marco is a lonely bird.]
Moon sea
Riding on the breeze
There's such a lot of world to see.
We'll fly away
Come what may
Wherever you are
That's home to me
Voice 1/2
[You bastard...]
[Don't sing to him like that just to remind him you're alive and care.]
voice 2/2
I'll be there
When you're hurt or afraid
I'll be there,
Come what may
We'll fly beyond the stars
And see all there is to see--
[He voice is about to crack from nerves and stress and he doesn't want to let Thatch hear that because Thatch has it worse and he has to be strong for him, so he's trying extra hard not to let the tears come through his voice and to keep it steady. Dependable. Because even when everything is bad, Marco will be strong and they can all lean on him.]

[The answer is firm and serious, the tone is different from how she usually sounds. It seems to belong more to a young woman than to a young lady who still steps into her childhood. She doesn't care if her response is good or seen as foolish by others who can see this, it's her decision and she's proud of it after all.
Her voice slips a bit back into what's normal for her as she continues, though.]
Right now, none of those people are here, that's not to say that I don't love my friends here, but it's different. My family isn't here, not a single one of them, and even the friends from my world that are here lack someone important to them here. So I want to go back, I was us to go back there. And if tomorrow my brother, my parents and Ciel were to come, I would not want to leave, because my home is where they are, plain and simple.
I know that your family is here now, so I can understand that you want to stay here. And I don't know whose world this world is, can a world really belong to someone? If it can, I say that even if it's not yours you should take it if it's what you want.
[Voice]
My Pops was the same way. Home is where the heart is, eh?
I think I may just take the world yet. Something like this ought to be treasured, and if it's a treasure, then it must be defended from pirates or we'll take it with gusto, eh?

Roxas settles himself, comfortable with the level of danger that comes with dangling his legs over the side of the boat and looks out at the sea, thinking. He seems a little melancholy.]

I miss my Pops' dog too, come to think. He's kind of useless, and Pops taught him the dumbest tricks he could think of, but he was always good company on days like this.

ACTION - assuming this is still the body swap...
Elissa was actually close enough to overhear the posting from the place where he was working in the rigging. It didn't take much effort to climb the rest of the way up to the crow's nest to have an uncertain look at Marco. "I have no desire to go back," Elissa said in Logan's voice. "My duties are done. My family is dead. My love is here. Haytham and I have discussed attempting to remain here to aid this world, if the jewel is ever restored. If we can stay, you will not be alone."
ACTION /// EITHER OR BOTH! It's up to whoever tags as they want
"Admittedly, my duties aren't finished there, not by a long shot, but the price of a phoenix means that it'll be a long time before I run out of... time, eh?"
voice/action:
Conflicting timelines? Who cares about conflicting timelines?Rogue is back to being herself. To being in the body she knows with the powers she resents. But it's hers. She knows how to use them, and they're not being inflicted on someone else. She can... live with that.
Technically, she says it to the journal.
But only because she's not too sure about her footing in the rigging. Easier to stay on deck, looking up at where he is.]
Ain' in a hurry t' go back. I needed a break. But my team's there, an' we've still got a lot t' do.
But... if what Logan said's true? That nothin'll have changed while I'm gone? I wouldn' mind stickin' 'round for awhile.

It is... imperative I return to my world. Taishi-sama needs Futo and I. And we need her. There is no negotiating that truth.
... But were I to assemble Jones' gem, were I to be granted that power and the wishes I could give... I would allow those who have nothing to return to to stay here. They've all worked hard and suffered right along everyone else. Even if they are not my allies, even if I do not pity them or envy them... I respect what they have earned. What you have earned. And that is a right to exist.

By all means, my captain and I still intend to see the jewel put together to send everyone home who wishes it, but I should like to continue a little of my selfishness on this plane or any other.

This is not the world I told myself I would rule as the greatest swordsman.
[voice]
And I truthfully wouldn't change it. My Pops wanted to see the man who'd carry on Ace's will go as far as he could, no sense slowing it down here.
[And yet... he still hates Robin's view on it. It's so self-sacrificing of course. That she views herself as a thorn in the government's side more than a woman of her own wants and dreams. Is uncovering the truth really worth more than a few days of fun? He can't understand it really.]

[His words are mostly a drunk slur as he leans back against something, maybe Marco, maybe the wood, he doesn't know and doesn't care either.]
And I will take you all with me, so fuck you and your plans to take this world.
Or go back and take them all back here with me, that also works. Ah, but Esmeralda would be left there unless we can make Davy Jones bring her here too from before she... That would be nice. He will have to bring Pandora too, I suppose, since we're doing that. And Pops too. I mean Whitebeard, eh?
[Not the other one, the other one can burn in hell forever. Except that there's no hell anymore. Well, then he can... Stay in the nothingness forever, that works too.]
[Action]
Aye. [Pets Ikki's head soothingly.] We'll beat up Chronos and do as we please.
How many of those have you had little brother? [Not that it would easily affect the phoenix, but Marco is a worrier above all else.]
