Voice // Ready or not || Action for anyone on the Spades Ships, Marco's in the crow's nest

How many people want to go back to their own worlds? Especially during things like this.

My world often had storms in the New World like this, so I can't say this makes me homesick.

Then again, anyone who knows me well knows I don't intend to ever go back.

I hate when people tell me this isn't my world. I mentioned that at the start of this summer too, and that my world has no use for monsters like us, so why not go where I please? Maybe that's a side effect of being a bird. I'll go wherever I want. But then whose world is it if not mine? People born here? Who decides that? Clearly Davy Jones thinks otherwise, whether we're puppets and pawns or not.

Everything is too familiar lately. I hate it.

Many people want to return to their worlds for their own selfish reasons. And that doesn't exclude me either. People refer to this world as 'not theirs' because most of them don't sail the seas, and even if they do, it's just for fun. Hence why the drop others in the same bag as them.

If you don't want to go back, that's your decision and no one should interfere with that. Opinions are overrated and seldom useful.

They can't keep it from them no matter how hard they try and in the dark they can't see it/ He hears Marco but the sense of the words is hard to get because of whatever it is they've been cramming down his throat-- or maybe the smoke always filling filling filling the empty room.

[On the one hand he wants to call everyone who wants to go home, to run away from this adventure cowards, but in truth, isn't he more the coward? But really, does it even matter?]

There's something I can't have at home, I can't even really begin to understand those who wish to go back so firmly.

[A reluctant grunt.] Those that also believe others need to return as well.

And embarrassingly, I find my conviction is a lot shakier when I feel so much like a bird outside a window looking in.

[He voice is about to crack from nerves and stress and he doesn't want to let Thatch hear that because Thatch has it worse and he has to be strong for him, so he's trying extra hard not to let the tears come through his voice and to keep it steady. Dependable. Because even when everything is bad, Marco will be strong and they can all lean on him.]

[She stares at the journal as if it's an alien. People recently keep thanking her and she was only expressing her genuine opinion. Back at Noxus, that would be considered obnoxious and hard to handle.]

As I said, I wish to return not because I don't like it here, but because there's stuff I need to fix. There are things and certain people that need my utmost attention.

And those that believe that everyone needs to think the way they think, need some reality check. And ass kicking.

As much inclined to the latter as I am, the person suggesting it most strongly is an exception to my general "kick naysayers overboard" policy.

I have things that need to be fixed from when and where I am from as well, but time isn't continuing there, so I don't want to go back until I truly exhaust the alternates.

In fact, more trouble seems to be stirring up, what will all this body-mind swap charade that's going on. [Just take a look at her damn crew! Grell wanted to kill everyone, they have a raccoon and shark abroad and Katarina herself, because of all that mess, almost killed both new crew members.]

It feels as if invisible cliffs and knock up streams would be easier to deal with than stopping Grell from killing everyone who swapped.

True, from what I know of her, it might.

But I think she is merely remembering the incident with the sea witch. Since I helped subdue her then, would you like a volunteer to aid her should it ever become necessary? Perhaps some insurance would set her mind at ease.

Sea witch incident? What happened? [She's curious.

She cracks her knuckles-] Will dealing with the sea witch end up having half of the crew slain? [She's not opposed to killing but they need a crew at the end of the day.]

The sea witch has long since been dealt with.

She was an ex-crewmate of Davy Jones, one who betrayed him, and sought to interfere with his powers and objectives.

She turned nakama against nakama, much as she had done to Jones himself. My own captain Ace required subduing before he took off for the safety of everyone else, but Grell even cut down Dave before he did his... multiplying thing.

In any case, I have certain strengths of my own when it comes to dealing with insanity.

Right now it feels surprisingly lonesome, but I do count Grell as a friend so if she wants the help, she can have it. That way at least, she could everyone free and only kill them after they do something stupid.

Roxas was found. The navy had him. He's been having nightmares, but he says it's part of growing a heart, so I'm proud of how well he's holding up. And I am glad for him.

[He could say he offered to let Lea back in, but wow that was that ever a door slammed back in the face.]

She sounds like a piece of work. Grell has my full support, she should know that by now. If killing is required and there will be killing left and right, no questions asked. [When Kat's loyal, she's loyal. It's problem to get her to be loyal.]

However, I will always try to get her to think on a long run first, because we ain't going from here any time soon.

Tell her to stop acting superstitious on a witch hunt, she's strong enough to handle them even if they were possessed by another outside force, so there should be no reason to treat them as hostile until they prove themselves as such.

I've been told I do. [And accused her that that is the reason why she's chosen. And then they got punched in the face by her. She's not taking that crap.]

I managed to dig out a "reasonable" explanation why she shouldn't kill them, but everyone agrees that it is a bit out of control.

I will make a not to pass that to her.

[Hah, in Marco's world, the only time women with good looks get ahead is because they purposely distract then destroy. And he saw what happened to Thatch's division mates that got caught up in Boa Hancock's looks -> turn to stone attacks.]

I told her she might need to question them about how they managed to possess the body, and to keep an eye on them if they can willingly switch around.

[Given that Haruta, Whitey Bay, and 1/2 ton of the other women Marco knows got ahead that way, and his own girlfriend just uses her brains, that wouldn't surprise him in the least.]

If I judged for myself, my girlfriend would kill me whenever I find her again. Either way, I trust my brothers' instincts, and they are very keen when it comes to dangerous women. [And how.]

That seems unnecessarily complicated, but so long as it worked, I suppose.
