[Voice]
[There is a rustle of papers, before an unfamiliar voice speaks up.]
Tell me about this journal. What is it really?
[There's a pause and a small grunt before Roxas' voice comes through.]
I don't know anything about it.
How about that...interesting tattoo of yours? Hm? [There's another beat of silence.] Aren't you hungry kid? [Another few beats.] Got nothing to say? What a shame. Bring him for execution as a worthless pirate.
[There is a click, the sound of a manacle being opened so they can move him, but it's a mistake. It's followed with a scream and then chaos. Another click can be heard and the sounds of a scuffle. The book hits the ground and there's a few other cries. The silence comes full force and there's a smear of blood on the journal as it's picked up and half shoved into a pocket. ]
[The respite is short because they're banging the door in. The sounds of angry shouting, gunfire and the clang of metal clashing fill the air unwittingly. Footsteps on the ground and a smug voice takes over.]
You're surrounded. Give up and die a much less painful death.
[Roxas scoffs. Surrounded? Please. Anyone near this base would see all at once an explosion of light, accompanied with the screams of people who dare stand in his way. Before the litany of escape is over, an onlooker would see another explosion of light and finally, smoke rising as he gets out of the building. He pulls the journal out of his pocket again, fingers smearing more blood on the pages.]
Lea. [Roxas is breathing hard from exertion.] I'm not sure where I am.

...kinda reckless to just dive into a fort without knowin' who's in it, no?
[not that he has a problem with recklessness...quite the opposite. But getting captured again? No thanks.]
[voice]
My job is just to try to make sure he doesn't declare war on the world alone. Stopping him is impossible, and not worth it, and it's going to happen either way, so the least I can do is provide him backup and try to make escape routes for the people he decides to send along the way.
[voice]
I've had enough of war, though. I just wanna be a pirate. And right now, I got this little voice in the back of my head that sounds just like Lu Meng, tellin' me to hold off and send the dragon to get Roxas. Much as I want to blast in there, sword swingin', it'll still take days of sailing in any direction to find him, and that's if we knew where to go.
[voice]
I said a two-pronged attack. Roxas doesn't remember there being any other prisoners held there, but I wouldn't doubt it. Given that he's blowing things up himself, he could use someone to take heat off him in other places, understand?
Lea was spoiled in his previous pursuits. He could pick and choose to actually avoid enemies. Tell him to get his head into the real world already. We're surrounded, and the bases are not so isolated from one another that reinforcements won't come pouring in if one asks for help. Distract the other bases, and they won't be able to, understood?
Do what you want Captain, but if we're simply going on our own way it won't be anymore organized, aye?
[voice]
It sure sounds like a good strategy, but we're days away from the nearest base - by sea. It ain't the numbers, it's the timing. I just want him outta there, that's it.
[voice]
[voice]
What, you ain't seen Toothless in action? He can fly! Faster'n a boat can sail.
[voice]
Nevermind, I've got my own base to deal with. You can talk to Ace if he doesn't feel like blowing it all to hell.
[voice]
[Go get your boys, Marco.]
[voice]
[He said this without a shred of emotion in him.]
[voice]
He recognizes that voice, at least]
See to your own guys, Portgas. I got this.
[voice]
A captain is supposed to risk themselves for their crew. Aren't you waiting too long?
[voice]
[voice]
[voice]
Don't get in my way, Portgas. I don't wanna start a war with you.
[voice]
[voice]
I never had a quarrel with you, but if you wanna start one, bring it.
[voice]
All pirates are enemies with each other. That's the point of competition. Just 'cause I'm cordial doesn't mean I'm stupid enough to make rookie mistakes.
[voice]
Look, I've had to ally with my worst enemies to survive, so I don't got a single problem with other pirates existing. But between you and Marco I think it's about damn time I stood up to say: this ain't your world. Your rules don't apply here. Think what you want, but I'm gonna go my way. If that puts us at odds, then so be it.
[voice]
Ahh, you're right. I guess I'm getting ahead of myself.
It's not my world.
Yet.
See you at the summit, Gan Ning.
[voice]
Crazy bastard. The hell's that mean...?]
