[voice] action to Straw Hats
Oi, Spades! Or anyone still at Port Chance. Is Luffy with you? He didn't come to breakfast this morning and he's not on the ship. We set out last night but maybe he decided to pop back and visit somebody while we were still close.
...come to think of it, I haven't seen Robin around either. I assumed she was already onboard when we raised sail.
So if he's over with you guys, will you send his ass back? He didn't tell us where he wanted to set course to, and I dunno where to go. If anybody's even seen him or Robin, tell me.
[the other Straw Hats on board may see Zoro pacing the ship restlessly, triple-checking every nook and cranny of the ship. Somebody as quiet and private as Robin can easily elude notice, but Luffy? His Supreme Noisiness not being onboard is pretty obvious and as the day goes on, Zoro will start to really worry.]

[action]
That idiot needs to let us know if he's gonna take off somewhere, do you know how much fucking food is left from breakfast? I only just got done storing all that shit.
[GRUMPS.
Then he looks at the journal in Zoro's hand.]
Heard from Ace yet?
[He's honestly assuming both he and Robin-chan took an impromptu trip over there. Maybe she wanted to visit Marco or something and Luffy was being Luffy and dragged them off on a whim and forgot to tell anyone.]
[action]
That idiot can't just wander off on a whim, we barely got started on a new course. I don't even know where we're going.
[action]
Well, thank fuck Nami-san's the navigator and not you.
[He leans up against the ship's railing, bracing his elbows on it and staring out at the sea.]
...If they ain't with the Spades, then where else would they be?
[action]
He tucks the journal into his haramaki and folds his arms over his chest, looking out at the same view as Sanji]
I can't think of anywhere else they'd be. Not voluntarily, anyway. You don't think Smoker would have tried to get Luffy back for kidnapping him?
[action]
Sanji just shakes his head at the Smoker thing.]
Nah, I doubt it...
[There's a sinking sensation in his stomach. Really, their nakama don't generally just up and disappear without letting anyone know. Especially when they've just set sail. This is more like the past two times Usopp has vanished.
Which has Sanji letting out a heavy sigh, one hand pushing back into his hair and his expression turning somewhat gloomy.]
[action]
Don't. Don't even think it. I'm already thinking it and I don't want to think it.
[action]
[Glances at him out of the corner of his eye.]
We have to think it, marimo.
[action]
And if they are? We can't wait months and hope they'll come back.
[action]
No shit, we can't. We're just gonna have to keep going.
[action]
[no, he doesn't want to think about Luffy being gone. But that has been his fear for the last hour or so. Rayleigh and Usopp disappeared at Port Chance. Did the same happen to Robin and Luffy?
But then another realization dawns on him.]
I'm going to have to act as captain, then.
[action]
Yep.
[Looks at him fully this time.]
Better hope Luffy gets his ass back here. ...But if he doesn't, might wanna start mentally preparing yourself.
[action]
Damn.
He can't just leave us.
[action]
[He pulls out a cigarette, lighting up and taking a long drag.]
...This has happened before. We probably should've been ready for it to happen again. At some point.
[action]
It doesn't do to sit around steeling yourself for people to just disappear. We've been going about our lives because we have to. We still do.
[he shoots Sanji a quick sidelong glance]
...how long until you think we should tell the others?
[action]
[He meets that glance briefly, then looks away again.]
Well. They're gonna notice he's missing. Kind of impossible not to.
[Scratches the back of his head, ruffling his hair.]
So...probably soon. Maybe warn 'em at dinner if there hasn't been any word.
[action]
[He turns swiftly, then, taking Sanji gently by the arm and pulling him close enough to whisper between them]
Don't talk about going. I know we'll all be together back home, but I don't wanna think about it.
[action]
I know. ...If we figured our shit out here, then we can do it there, too. But. Yeah. I don't like thinking about it either.
[He lets his head tip forward a bit, kind of resting against Zoro's just for a second. Then he pulls back and grins at him -- it's not exactly a cheerful grin, but it's trying to be. Like maybe he's trying to lighten the mood, even though that's...hard.]
Can I be your second?
[action]
I suppose, you're the only one who can be. I mean, Elsa and Celestia have powerful magic, but.
[they don't have the cook's experience in fighting to the death. He would be able to make the hard decisions, he wouldn't shy away from killing to protect the crew. Sorry, Sanji, he's still serious and too logical, but it's the right answer.]
[action]
You got a thing for royalty, huh? You can go with one of them if you want, I'll only skimp on your dinner a little.
[Meanwhile, is not serious at all. Despite saying they need to think about what they'll do if Luffy is, in fact, gone, he's not actually ready to face that reality. The thought of sailing without that rubber idiot bouncing around on board somewhere is just weird.]
[action]
No. I'm saying I know they're strong but you're still stronger. And you know how this shit works so I'm fine with you being second.
[if he wasn't teetering on the edge of freaking out about Luffy being gone - possibly for a long time, possibly never coming back - he would use that to his advantage and tease the cook about being inferior to him. Not today, though.]
[action]
[Takes another drag of his smoke, his expression turning more serious again as he exhales in a sigh.]
...It seems less okay being in this shitty world if Luffy ain't here, too. Even though I know time supposedly isn't passing back home and all that, and we're not missing anything while we're here. But if he's not here, I feel like we should be trying harder to get back or something. Back to where he is.
[action]
It's not like he asked us to wait two years for him, in this case. We should do everything we can to get home. Not that we haven't, but...without him, this place is just going to turn to shit.
[action]
[Can't really disagree with that.]
We'll figure it out. Nami-san is still here, at least. And Brook. We'll make it work. We're gonna have to.
[action]
Shit. If it got Luffy, it got Robin, too. What the hell.
[this is certainly not improving his mood]
Damn Davy Jones.
[action]
[He pauses, taking the time to finish off his cigarette.]
Plus the fact that Robin-chan is gone, too... She would've said something if they went anywhere.
[Scowls, stubbing out the cigarette against the rail and then flicking it out over the water. He watches as it drifts down and vanishes in the choppy waves, and then his brow furrows.]
...Unless there was some kinda shitty accident.
