[Voice/Action to those in Port Chance]

[She’s been talking to a human girl for like, the last few hours! It was scary at first, but then she just started talking and rambling and everything was spilling out of the other girl which got Ariel talking and... and... it’s so cool! Talking to a real live human!]

[And then she was told she could talk to MORE. This little journal she found could do it. HOW EXCITING!.]

Hello? I was told that I could contact more humans through this thing. Just by talking! How amazing is that? Does it really work? She called it... a “Journal”. She told me everything! This isn’t home, which is more of an adventure then I’ve ever been on. I miss my friends though but I’m sure they’d be proud of me.

Oh, but she told me about Pirates, and that there is a race going on? [she gave a chipper giggle to that] Races are great! She said there was a prize and everything. It sounds like the yearly dolphin races back in our kingdom.

[there was another pause and the sound of someone holding a hand over her mouth to hide the giggles filtering from her mouth] It feels silly talking out loud to a journal. Can people really hear me?

-----

[For those of you at Port Chance still, this is open for Action too. She’s sitting on a rock, on the beach, tail half in the water, red hair bright and a small journal in her lap. She’s pawing through it, hearing what others have said and are saying. How curious!]

[She’s spoken to enough humans at this point that she isn’t jetting away. Far too curious to run, but if you startle her she can hit the water almost instantly!]

They race themselves?

[Wan's voice is in awe.]

I didn't know dolphins liked to do that! Though, I don't really get much time to spend with them. They live in the water and I can't stay down there long enough to get any time with most of the sea creatures. You must be one yourself, if you have a castle the fish and dolphins can swim so close to. Are you a sea creature? Or a spirit maybe?

That sounds wonderful. And no, I'm sorry. I don't. Would you tell me?

Yeah. I'm on the Hazmat Crew. We have turtle people and dragon people on our crew. I've never seen a fish person that looks the way you describe, but you sound like a great person. In my world, I could stay underwater for hours if I wanted. Here, I can only do it for much shorter amounts of time and only within a short distance of the ship.

[Which, actually, reminded him...]

Are you able to swim very far out from a ship or from shore? Or did that get taken from you? A lot of people are unable to do what they did at home when they're too far out from either.

No, I can't really breath underwater. I take a bubble of air down with me. And, yeah. I think there's some magic keeping everyone from swimming too far. Or even flying. It's makes finding a ship to stay on really important if you want to get anywhere. And sometimes you have to leave where you're at. The native people of this world are friendly enough for a week, maybe two if you're lucky, but then they start getting mad that you're still there.

[With good reason, considering the two islands that had been practically burned down in the last month.]

Well, in my case, I just asked Miss Maggie at Isla Empieza to send me to a crew that would be friendly to someone who wasn't a regular human and I got sent to the ship I'm on now. I asked to join them and they accepted. If you want, you could join our crew. I'm sure the Captain wouldn't mind. We're really friendly.

Are you on Empieza?

Oh, yeah. That's where the race started. I didn't realize Miss Maggie had gone there. But if she's there, you should ask her to send you to the USS Booyakasha II. It's a bit of a mouthful, but it gets easier to say the less you think about how it's spelled.

Our Captain is Gan Ning. Cynthia says he's a kitten because of the bells he wears, but he seems like a normal human to me. He's a good one though.

[After a moment of thought.]

So, since you're a fish person, do you need water? If you do, I can make sure there's water for you.

It depends on how rough the weather is and how fast the ship is going. I guess you probably don't get tired of swimming as easily as others, but I don't know how fast you can swim. We're trying to win a race right now so we're doing our best to go as fast as possible. And the weather isn't that great.

It was raining food for a while there. That's not really safe for anyone.

You won't slow us down if you're on the ship. We'll get something worked out for you. And no, the weather isn't... normal. It caught everyone by surprise.

Yes, that's right! And yeah, there are. Even if the weather is strange, it's still pretty amazing to see it.

[[Log for the month if you want to drop Ariel in for arrival and whatever else! Wan will be setting up a sort of pool in one of the life boats for her until they next make landfall. Then he'll be earthbending some water channels on deck for her.]

It really is. I like it a lot, for the most part.

[Not being able to touch Raava without extreme pain was not a trade off he felt was worth being brought to this world for.]

I'll see you soon.
