004 | Harry Potter | [ Voice ]

[ Some of you may or may not recognize the voice over the Journal as belonging to one Harry Potter, the boy who lived. It's been awhile and he's just been informed what month it is so he's feeling a bit awkward and very confused. But hey! at least he's getting free food! ]

So apparently it's not actually February anymore and I've been gone a few months.

I was on the ship Charming Murderess until-well, for me it was just yesterday-but the point is-does anyone know where my-er crew is?

I know the name's a bit-er... alarming but I don't think anyone on it was actually a murderer. Hopefully that's not changed.

Yes. We only just left Port Chance less than a week ago. Are you back at Isla Empieza, then?

No, actually, I'm at Port Chance. Everyone here seems to be really excited about the race-there's a whole festival.

Merlin, is that still going on? I thought it would end when all the participants took off. It was very loud when we were there. And crowded. They put on a fireworks show every night that I suppose was decent enough by Muggle standards. I mostly kept to the beach and took a couple people flying.

Yeah, I guess it goes on until the race is over. Not that I mind-I feel like I haven't eaten in months. [ Thank Goodness for free food! ]

Hang on. Flying? You've got your broom?

...Well. Not my broom. But yes, I've got a broom. Regrettably, Miss Margie's prices for a really decent broom were atrocious. So I had to settle for a Cleansweep of all things. One of their higher-end models, but still. Can you imagine? It's a Cleansweep Eleven, at least. What did the Weasleys have? Fives?

Sevens. And don't you dare start ragging on the Weasleys. I'll make sure you regret it.

Oh, will you? Because you apparently still think it's February, whereas I know it's July and I've been tutoring myself for half a year. Do the math, Potter, and don't test me.

[For real, though, he has all the spellbooks from Hogwarts, right up through N.E.W.T. level. He's woefully behind in Potions, though. ;_; He'll be setting up a lab somewhere on the ship next. Somehow.]

...Anyway, I wasn't ragging on them. I was simply asking.

Of course I've tutored myself while here. I didn't want to fall too far behind in my lessons, not to mention my remaining stagnant would hardly be of use to anybody. I'd rather not give Sasuke more reasons to want to chuck me straight overboard, you know?

And really, track record or not, there are far more important things to be worried about here than what a poor family of gingers can or cannot afford. I'm beyond that now!

Hang on. Does that mean I'll be sixteen at the end of this month?

It means that the date at the end of the month will match the day of your birth, but I don't know that you'll actually be sixteen. Even for myself, remember when we arrived here how the date wasn't correct? So I suppose I'm a month off. And you're evidently half a year off.

But details, who cares. Sure, you can be sixteen.

...If you must. This race is only supposed to last through the month and ends back there anyway, so I imagine we'll be back by your birthday.

That woman that runs that Backwater Brig shop is here somewhere-She should know if there's someway to get back on board-frankly, I'd be surprised if there wasn't.

You won't need a fancy one, so it shouldn't cost too much. Get a Cleansweep, save your gold for...I don't know, more spellbooks or something.
