004 | Harry Potter | [ Voice ]

[ Some of you may or may not recognize the voice over the Journal as belonging to one Harry Potter, the boy who lived. It's been awhile and he's just been informed what month it is so he's feeling a bit awkward and very confused. But hey! at least he's getting free food! ]

So apparently it's not actually February anymore and I've been gone a few months.

I was on the ship Charming Murderess until-well, for me it was just yesterday-but the point is-does anyone know where my-er crew is?

I know the name's a bit-er... alarming but I don't think anyone on it was actually a murderer. Hopefully that's not changed.

Of course I've tutored myself while here. I didn't want to fall too far behind in my lessons, not to mention my remaining stagnant would hardly be of use to anybody. I'd rather not give Sasuke more reasons to want to chuck me straight overboard, you know?

And really, track record or not, there are far more important things to be worried about here than what a poor family of gingers can or cannot afford. I'm beyond that now!

[HE'S SO MATURE AND STUFF.]

[ He doesn't say anything. He is nor rising to potential bait. It needles him to hear Malfoy call the Weasleys poor. They both know that it's a fact but it's always so condescending coming from Malfoy. ]

Do you know, I turned sixteen last month and I can see now that the age difference has only widened the gap between our maturity levels.

[ He had a response to that but it got a bit derailed. ]

Sixteen? Really? [ He doesn't actually know when Malfoy's birthday is nor does he particularly care. ]

Hang on. Does that mean I'll be sixteen at the end of this month?

It means that the date at the end of the month will match the day of your birth, but I don't know that you'll actually be sixteen. Even for myself, remember when we arrived here how the date wasn't correct? So I suppose I'm a month off. And you're evidently half a year off.

But details, who cares. Sure, you can be sixteen.

I'll ask around but I don't think it'd be too terrible to spend the rest of the month here-it's actually quite nice.

[All the pouting. But he manfully hides it from his tone, because it's not like he cares if he ever sees Potter again, really. HMPH.]

...If you must. This race is only supposed to last through the month and ends back there anyway, so I imagine we'll be back by your birthday.

That woman that runs that Backwater Brig shop is here somewhere-She should know if there's someway to get back on board-frankly, I'd be surprised if there wasn't.

You won't need a fancy one, so it shouldn't cost too much. Get a Cleansweep, save your gold for...I don't know, more spellbooks or something.

[ He'll maybe get the model above Malfoys. It wouldn't even be a challenge with a firebolt. ]

That wouldn't be too hard. I've loads f experiences in cooking, cleaning, and gardening.

[ His tone is rather flippant but there might be just a touch of bitterness in there too. ]

[His tone falls somewhere between doubtful and flat out disbelieving, but then he pauses for a moment.]

...Gardening? Cleaning? What are you, a house elf?

[ Well, sometimes he feels like it but lol, totally going to ignore that question. ]

Gardening's not so bad once you get used to it. [ Because plants can't yell or lock you in small cupboards. Well, not plants in the muggle world, anyway. ]

...Well. My mother has flowers that she tends to.

But no thank you, not for me. I think that'd be dreadfully boring.

Yeah well, I think that's why I prefer gardening to the other chores. My life's exciting enough as is.
