[Something has been troubling Roxas, he has a question that he really wants to get a poll on.]

I was on Candy Mountain and there was a puddle made of chocolate.

I drank some of it, because it's chocolate.

Then a turtle told me I'm weird.

Is that weird?

Apparently lots of people! Who knew? The turtle thought I was weird anyway.

Yeah, well it's really good! I don't have any of the chocolate water stuff, but I did get lots of candy to share with you guys!

[Roxas did too, so he's probably as weird as Marco.]

Awwww kid! [BEAMS.] You didn't have to do that, but thanks. If you can hold off on eating it until you get here next, I'll make you ice cream to make up for it.

There was all kinds of weird candy, candy flowers, candy clouds, candy puddles...everything was candy. It's the best place ever!

Whoa! That sounds delicious!

[And like Big Mam's island.] Were there any people there?

I didn't see any, but I did see a gummy frog that was hopping around. I didn't eat it though.

That sounds like the best island.

Did you have fun? Getting called weird aside, that is.

There was so much candy Marco! A whole island's worth!

Yeah it was pretty fun except I ate too much and threw up so it wasn't good that part.

Ah... Right, you probably haven't learned moderation yet, eh?

Yeah. That's what Naesala said. He said I should eat slower and stop if I don't feel well. I didn't give eating much thought. Maybe I should only eat a little bit, like, I used to only eat an ice cream bar every day. Like that.

It takes practice to get used to. Ikki and I know better than to eat that much at once, but only because we've had decades of practice.

I don't think I'm going to do it again. I didn't like being sick to my stomach.

I got candy flowers for you and licorice branches with mint leaves. The island is so so cool. You should go! There's so much candy!

Ahh, we'll have to see. Most of the crew doesn't appreciate candy much, and even Ace might not find it too exciting, eh.

[He sounds incredulous.]

But. It's candy. A whole island!

[He pauses.]

I haven't seen him on the journal yet, but I'll talk to him when I do, I promise.

I know, right? Some people have no taste.

Aye. It's okay to take your time. I haven't been exactly adult in dealing with my little brother either, to be honest.

Candy is about the best thing ever! Almost.

[He pauses a moment.]

It's just, I want to be family too. I want to be a Spade too, even if I'm not supposed to be.

Second to nakama, eh?

[He was just talking to Riku about that no less...]

Well that too, but I meant I really really like ice cream the best. [Marco can probably hear his grin. It fades though and he answers again quietly.]

[He seems to be mulling it over.]

It's okay I guess, even if you guys don't want me around. I'll be okay, you know?

[He sounds a little sad. It has been awhile since he's spent so much time alone and the HazMat crew tends to leave Roxas alone for the most part. It's familiar, all too familiar.]

At least Saix isn't here to tell me to get to work. [Yep, he's rolling his eyes.]

Ice cream it is.

[He's quiet for a second, and then makes an annoyed phoenix sound, to which his voice is very firm.]

It's not okay.

Everyone wants you around, Ace is -- [Another teeth clench. Marco takes his role as first mate very seriously, and that means that anytime he has a problem with Ace, he tells Ace personally, but to the crew he must always maintain a united front.] mistaken, yoi. I told you, he thinks it's not about family, but protection. And it doesn't matter how much I tell him otherwise, he needs to hear it from you. It's not complaining to stand your ground, eh?

And Ikki and I kept your room the way it was, so it's always there for you.

Maybe to him it's not about family then. I don't know, I barely understand it.

[Although his actions, his loyalty to Lea, the affection he dishes out suggests he understands family just fine, at least in practice.]

I don't need anyone to protect me.

I'm not afraid of him, I will tell him again when I get a chance but...I'm ready for it not to work out. Things usually end pretty badly.

Roxas, I didn't agree to become his first mate for any reason other than family. Because he's my baby brother. That's it.

If we're not family, then I'm not a Spade.

We're crew because things would be shit for us without each other, so tell him that, got it?
