New blood? I am not sure how I feel about being referred to as such, especially given the situation.

Do I even want to know how I arrived here? The last thing I remember before waking up near this fountain was a bright flash of light. So that leaves me to believe that I am either unconscious somewhere and this is all a strange dream, or I am dead and this the some form of afterlife, or somehow I was taken from my world and brought here. At the point I am not sure which I would prefer as all are undesirable.

Asking about how to leave this place feels to be pointless. What I do like to know is more about this place, especially concerning that Scurvy Dog and Davy Jones. Any information would be appreciated.

I have learned a long time ago that it does not pay to not be opened minded when you are put into a new situation.

[She gives a soft sigh.]

It would not be the first time some armed force would be after me. Though the circumstances are very different.

Hoo? No comment about how unfair it is? Or question about if it's possible to reason with them?

Exclaiming how unfair the situation is isn't going to change anything. The situation will still be unfair and one will be left looking child having a temper tantrum.

And you just said they would execute us as soon as we are captured by them. That hardly leaves any room for reasoning.

I'm officially impressed. You've no idea how difficult it is for some people here to get those two ideas into their skulls.

Kind of sad that just this is enough to impress me regarding new people in this place.

[Honestly, the standards just kept going lower and lower.]

One could only imagine how many arrived here and started complaining and demanding to be taken home.

Like I said, I have learned to be open minded when it comes to situations that are not within my control. This is one of those situations. It is best just to go with things until an opportunity to get home shows itself

You will be able to come up with guesses soon. When you start seeing people who have been here for a long time still insist on trying to reason with the Navy and this all being unfair.

Have you visited the fountain yet?

The one with the mermaid and the poem? I saw it.

I suppose we are supposed to look for the pieces of the ruby it mentioned.

And you suppose right. A few seem to have been discovered already, but there's no clue as to how many there are and it doesn't seem we're anywhere close to achieve it.

The "promised" [And he says it in a tone that shows how little he believes it.] way out is that by gathering the shards and rebuilding the ruby we get a wish and can use it to go back home. But we don't know if it works for everyone, if everyone has to make a wish or anything else

That "promise" does not sound very trust worthy.

It all just sounds like a wild treasure hunt that we may never be rewarded for or ever see the end of.

You forget the part where it says that it's all spiced up with wonderful things than range from deadly to extremely annoying.
