Second Gamble ♠ [Written, backdated to the 26th]

Hello, this is Captain Celestia Ludenberg of The Antoinette. For those of you who hadn't paid attention to the conversation Kaito-kun and myself had regarding "Scurvey Dog", allow me to explain. Thanks to the recent string of wasted questions we've dealt with as of late, I've decided that in order to ensure we do not waste yet another question, we should take a vote each week to decide what question gets asked and what person gets to ask it. Do keep in mind that both are important, as even the best question can be useless if the person asking it cannot speak clearly.

Originally I had planned to post this earlier, but due to the massive storm that hit our ship I had more important issues to deal with. We're all alright, for those who are curious. A bit shook up, but nothing major.

Regardless, onto the main point of this message. I myself will not be collecting the votes. Rather, I will be collecting the questions that each of you want answered, as well as the names of any volunteers who wish to ask Scurvey Dog the question we choose. Kaito-kun will be taking care of the actual voting, so look out for his post in a few days time.

So far, I have these questions collected:

1) What is the hard way of getting back home?
2) Why does Davy Jones want the ruby?
3A) Since we use the ruby to wish ourselves home, does that wish count for all of us or just the person who completes the ruby?
3B) If it counts for everyone, can those who prefer to stay here do so?
4) Which Nation does the navy hail from?
5) How the local sailors navigate by night?
6) What has been down to our bodies and powers?"
7) What kinds of weapons and tools does the navy possess?"
8) What information does the navy have on us?"

And that's it. I will update the list as time goes on. As for the people who wish to ask him the question, they are as follows:

1) Myself, Celestia Ludenberg
2) Kuroba Kaito

Along with the questions list, I will be updating this list as well. If you have any questions, feel free to ask them here. I will answer them to the best of my ability; that is all.

[He is quite fucking serious-- or else he wouldn't have bothered asking. :|]

I'll try to clarify then.

1) Unless there are geographical formations, like mountains, hills, or valleys, then the settlements would only fade into the distance. The fact that they rise and fall behind the horizon is confusing for me, as water generally does not cover these formations unless the relative height of the geographic features allows it.

2) I am referring to any of these automated devices, like the self cooling ice boxes. There are likely others who have never seen these before, which could prove dangerous if the wrong people get curious

As for the rest, I thank you. There is no method of measuring temperature where I'm from. It's a matter of how hot or cold it is, but there is nothing so formal. The predictions are guesses based on yearly patterns and cloud movements. It's easy to tell when there will be fair or stormy weather by the shape of the clouds.

Regarding piracy: that is personal preference. I've been mistaken for a pirate once already. It was not the most pleasant of experiences.

[He took a breath to cool his temper and reassert his patience. He had no idea why this was so difficult to comminucate.]

1) I am aware of this. In my experience, the only way a settlement is hidden from view is if it is over a hill. You lose sight of it as you pass the peak. On a flat surface, like the sea, it should simply fade into the distance.

2) It is not the machines themselves we should worry about. They might seem threatening to those who are unaware, and those same people could lash out based on the potential threat and cause trouble because of the nature of these machines.

[The first comment was jarring. The second was simply the sentiment of a person who wouldn't try to understand. Taking another breath as a reminder to stay calm, Piers took his pen to the paper and began a quick sketch from memory:]

-The world is flat. I have personally stood on the edge of it myself to confirm my observations. The idea of a world that is round like a ball is absurd!

-I have no quarrel with the ice box. It's quite useful, and personally spares me the extra work and frustration of performing the same task. However, a person unfamiliar with this might see it as a monster of some manner.

A threat.
