*Faye looked about to see if there was anything immediately obvious worth taking, then started raking through shelves*

Hmm. It's food. You want meat? Check the cool boxes. Beer too, or rum. Not that you're interested?

My nose is too sensitive to the alcohol, I'll pass. Meat or fish is usually what I prefer, with a few greens. Maybe some rice. Do we have a cook, or do we make it ourselves?

I'm not asking you to inhale the alcohol. Just drink it.

*Faye turned round to him, rice and vegetables in hand*

Not a cook proper, not really. You know how to do this stuff?

Smell is a significant part of experiencing taste, Faye. Seriously, if you lost your sense of smell, food wouldn't taste nearly as good as it once did.

Yeah, whatever, I know. But still... can't you just, hold your nose or something and get drunk?

*Not that she'd really allow him anyway - despite appearances, she knows that he's still young. Faye grins at him then hands him over the rice and vegetables*

How about you show me what you can do?

*Ie, Akira, you cook, because she sure as hell can't*

[He takes the ingredients and takes stock of what exactly they have to cook with.]

Not as bare as I thought it'd be, at least. It's something to work with. You like stir fry?

Akira, are you trying to get me drunk?

*Faye lays on a bashful expression, fluttering her eye lashes at him, before she settles for grabbing a random beer*

Sure, I like stir fry. But as a general rule, I'll eat anything.

*She grabs a nearby chair and sits, happy to watch Akira while he works*

Let's see...got water, long handled pan...spices and herbs...rice...utensils...knife...vegetables. Now I just need to start this thing up. It's a little rudimentary, but it should work.

[After getting a contained fire going, he puts in the ingredients and liberally applies a few oils. It doesn't take long for a good sizzle to start.]

I should probably make enough for multiple people, in case anyone else comes down here.

*Leaning back on her chair and taking a sip of her beer, Faye watches Akira carefully and shakes her head in quiet disbelief*

Yeah, and they were wrong, too. Perfect people don't get as many people killed as I do, trust me.

[He goes over a list of recipes in his head, trying to figure out something with wide appeal. Nothing too spicy, or too mild. Somewhere juuuuust in the middle...]

*She sighs a little and flops back completely on the chair, swinging a leg at the side. Though she's been listening, she waves a hand like she's not interested*

[He thinks as he flips the food around in the pan, adding fresh oils.]

What I am, it comes with benefits, sensory perception being one. My sense are getting strong every day, and the more they grow, the more something on this ship doesn't seem right. I'm not quite sure what it is, yet, but SOMETHING here is puttin' my instincts on edge.

Especially Grell. I can't tell why, but I just don't trust her. This ship looks fantastic, but I can't shake this undefinable discomfort.

So you 'dislike' me then? It's the same thing.

*She glances at the stir frying from the corner of her eyes before focusing on the bottle in her hands*

Could be. There's a guy who claims to be thousands of years old. And there's another guy who's half shark half human. Both of those probably smell pretty weird.

Faye, I have nothing against you at all. You're a perfectly nice person.

I've met the shark-man, and he seems alright. A little hot-headed maybe, but not too bad. Don't think I've talked to this other guy. What's his name?

*She actually sits up from her slumped position at that - a perfectly nice person? Smiling at that, she sinks back down. That was a new one to add to her mental CV*

The shark man is cute. I mean, he needs to learn a lot about being around human women, but I think he'll cope. The other guy is Arthur.

Arthur...British guy, right? Bold eyebrows?

*Faye scoffs at the neck of her bottle*
