Dear Captains of Various Crews of Those Spirited Away by Davy Jones,

Would you ever keep a secret from your crew? Why or why not?

Personally, I'm not sure what secret would be deemed worth keeping away from my crew, but I'd think I'd be able to confide in at least my first mate. It could depend on the secret, itself. Is it one that will spare them my tragic end from an incurable illness? Then perhaps I'd keep it for a bit, until I knew that it was truly incurable.

Really, being captain is a harder job than one may think. I took that role on knowing the difficulty, however.

Overall, I would not keep secrets that directly influence my crew or their interests if I could help it, whether or not the secret would affect those secrets positively or negatively. If I can't trust my crew, then I might as well end their lives right now, since their presence would be unnecessary.

As if they would go down easily, or at all!

I don't think it would be the death of people however.

But secret keeping is just a no from me. Maybe they have their reasons but they would have to be pretty damn good to be acceptable.

It could be, depending on if the crew is mentally disorganized, particularly during a battle.

I'd have to agree, but one's own reasoning may not be good enough for another, so there is also that to consider.

That's true. Thats just the wonders of ones mind. One might think on way and another might think the opposite. Minds are quite interesting that way.

That much is obvious. They look the same but inside it's different. I can't say keeping secrets is a good thing, but ones mind I guess would think it a good thing to do.

Its just not right though and it would bug me if someone on my crew was keeping secrets from me. [Ironically one is, but when and if she finds out she'll probably understand that one better.]
