[With their last adventure being a complete success and the most tiring thing she's done in a while. The champion decided that today would be a good day to relax...and by that she meant skipping out on breakfast and hiding out in the crow's nest so the boys wouldn't find her. Being the only girl in the crew, she wasn't really as strong as the boys, so they never really questioned why she never went up there. But she was there today, and a little too mesmerized by the view of the rising sun.]

A little treasure hunting really did do me some good. Makes me miss my dear friend, Steven Stone. I know he would have LOVED my previous adventure with the boys. It had his top two all time favorite things after all: Caves and shiny rocks. Arceus, I miss home...

But I did accomplish a few other things while we were in Aeolipile. I got my kitty, Ning-ning, a diamond encrusted bell (as if he needed to be any noisier, but I DID say I'd get him one.) I wonder if he found it yet? I managed to attach it to his belt while he was passed out. I hope he noticed it. I also have a present for my dear little Donatello. It's something I KNOW he's going to love, but I'm pretty sure I should give it to him personally.

Also, I did the impossible and Arceus I'm so proud of myself for doing it.

To anyone out there who knows who Gaius is, no I didn't kill him, but I did manage to get him to agree to stop eating sweets for a bit. How? By bribing him with the idea of candy mountain of course! I managed to find a map and some books to the place and I told him I'll suggest we head there next if he gave up sweets till we arrived. Yes, I know blackmail isn't mature, but it was for his own good.

And for the record, I love my boys. I really really do.

It wasn't easy, Master Splinter can push us pretty hard sometimes. But it all paid off in the end, he taught us all well. Now he's given me the job of training the others when we're outside the Lair, and since we're not home I have the job full time pretty much.

[Sighs] I hope he isn't too worried about us...

[She noticed the quick change in his mood and sighs. Home sickness was something she was far too familiar with. But she didn't like seeing other people suffer from it. The champion curls a finger under his chin and tips his head up to look him in the eye.]

Hey now, no frowning. I'm sure he's got nothing to worry about. He raised good kids, and one heck of a leader. That should make any parent sleep soundly at night.

[Well then... why did his cheeks feel warm? Was he... no, no way. It couldn't be that. Still, he pondered over the words as he averted his gaze to the ground.]

Sorry, it's just... we've never been gone form him for this long, or from our home for that matter. I guess I'm just missing everything more than I thought I did.

Let me tell you a story, Leo...

[She said as she gently pats his head.]

Once upon a time there was a little girl. When she turned ten, she left her home to try to prove to her family that she was all grown up. Every day she missed her little sister and grandmother and every day she thought about giving up and going back home where it was safe. But she didn't. And you know what happened to her?

Umm... she had good things happen because she kept going?

After three years, she travelled every known region in her world. After two years, became an elite. After another three years, she became champion. That's when she finally bothered to go home.

Now she's twenty something and stuck on a boat telling the exact same story to her new turtle friend. All I'm saying is, she couldn't have done all that is she just stayed home.

[Leo stared at Cynthia for a minute. it was pretty obvious who the little girl ended up being. Still, he sighed]

It's good that she did... but it's a different case for my brothers and me. We're outcasts, we always will be. Maybe we can do good while here, but when we go home it'll be back to that. We can't ever leave, if we did then we'd just be shunned by everyone.

Am I shunning you right now?

No...

Has anyone on this ship ever shunned you or your brothers?

No, never...

Back home, did you have other friends besides your brothers?

We have two, April and Casey. That's all though. There are plenty of humans that want us dead though, like... no, nevermind. I don't want to go into that.

[Just thinking about Karai hurt.]

Point is, you had friends. So can you HONESTLY tell me that EVERYONE shuns you?

Well... [Sighs] No, not everyone.

Now tell me something, those shards that'll get us home. How many have been found?

I have no idea. I know it hasn't been many though.

Ok so let's list down the facts shall we? One, you and your brothers are well loved and well taken cared of on this ship. Two, we aren't going home any time soon meaning it's a good thing you're stuck with people who would never hurt or shun you, right? Three, if and when you do get home, you'll return to your loving father and friends who would also NEVER SHUN YOU. Four, by that time, you'll also have friends in other worlds who would also love and care about you no matter where you are.

And five, you would have gained more skills, new experiences and a whole lot of fond memories that would be with you forever. So don't you ever tell me that your lives won't change.

[He was quiet for a minute as he pondered. When Cynthia put it like that, it put things in a new light. He let out a tiny breath before looking back up at Cynthia with a small smile]

Alright, point made.

Good, because I was scared I'd have to pull out points six through twelve to get my message across.

Nah, I usually only need one point to get it. And umm... thanks, for all that.
