[Oh god--she probably shouldn't have written that off as his usual spastic fretting, should she? Codi feels a little guilty now.]

[A beat. How much to reveal, here...?]

...I'm not used to it, either. [The choice is, none. She's lying.] But you're not going to get over it if you don't move on, right?

[His heart pitter-patters for a moment and his heart is heard sinking to his stomach.]

... I'm not exactly sure how to move on.

[There are just images he wishes he could delete from his memory from that.]

[Codi has to think about that one. How does she move on from these kinds of things? She killed people, then--but it wasn't her...doesn't make her feel any better, though.]

Well...yeah! Distractions are good, but obviously whatever you're doing isn't good enough.

[She thinks a bit more. Trouble sleeping...oh.]

--Hey--maybe you should help me patrol the ship for a couple of nights! It's something to do, and if you're having nightmares, then just...don't sleep!

Me? You want me to help you?

[He sounds rather suprised.]

Sure! Why not?

[Codi can think of several, but she decides (wisely) to mention none of them.]

It'll be fun! We'll stay up late, watch the stars, play with the dinosaurs--rearrange all the kitchen cabinets while Hachiken's asleep...

[There's a rare glimpse of what seems to be happiness reflecting back at Codi.]

Actually, all of that does sound like fun.

I didn't know you enjoyed looking at the stars.

...Yeah! Sure. I guess stars are okay.

[Honestly, Codi just said that because that's...a thing she imagines other people do when they're outside at night. Codi's usually too busy thinking about other things to waste her time looking at nothing.]

[...Although, some of those brilliantly bright constellations over Monsuta she saw, alone on the ship, were very pretty while they lasted...]

[...No, not when she has company to pester.]

Don't worry about that--we'll find much more fun things to do.

The vastness of the night sky... Makes you feel significant.

Well there's that and I'm trying to figure out how to map these stars.

...More fun? What could possibility be more fun?

I was thinking about switching the salt and sugar containers myself! That'll wake someone up, don't you think?
