[Altaïr was unaware that the journal in his pocket had activated somehow, that it was transmitting for all the sound of it smacking against wood as he steadily made his way up the mast of the ship he now called home. Over the rhythmic thuds and the sound of the wind blowing, Altaïr's voice could faintly be heard. And if one knew Arabic, they were in for quite a treat.

Curses upon the ship were tumbling from his mouth, the vast majority of which we're wishing catastrophe upon the ship. He was NOT enjoying himself at the moment, but it was necessary for him to acquaint himself with his new surroundings.]

I was taught the basics at a young age and have continued learning. In my village, it is not uncommon for us to travel across rooftops using such methods.
