Seeing requests for information, I have a few questions of my own. How many of you come from a place that has supernatural powers or mutations. The whole damn lot of you are all real accepting of these things. It makes me wonder if that could be connected to how we got brought here.

Doubt it, but it’s a thought.

That's what crew is for. It's what we do. Our lives are each other's.

Of course, now I have to see just how tough and unkillable you really are.

Lemme guess, you're crew is into this nakama thing too. [some of his crew mates have told him about it.]

If I was up to full power? I'd actually give you a challenge. Before I came here I had just taken out a Japanese warrior.

That's what it's all about, yeah. Crew, for us, is stronger than blood. When you sail together under a black flag, you give yourself up for dead and put your life in your crew's hands, and vice versa. Killing a member of your own crew is the only real crime among pirates.

[let that sink in for a minute]

Really? Huh. I wonder if that happens to other people, too. Abilities being off, I mean. So what, you heal extra-fast, then? What if somebody cut off your arm?

[he conveniently forgets that there is no cutting those bones...]

So what you're saying is, I'm going to have to work a lot harder to take you down.

Heh, yeah. Something like that. If I can figure out what's keeping my regeneration down so slow, you'll be in for a real good fight.
