Squeaky Clean! Voice, and action for Spades.

Hi everyone! Anyone out there got a way to polish the ships? Don't get me wrong, our deck is so clean you could make out with it - I just wondered if anyone had any awesome hints of tips for polishing!

*Since Selphie got back from her little trip to the Moon, she had done nothing but clean. What she said about making out with the deck is no lie, should anyone care to try. Even the crow's nest is shining, on both ships. But the girl shows no signs of stopping. She seems to be found anywhere and everywhere, scrubbing like her life depends upon it. If she sees someone, she might even offer to clean and tidy their room!*

Oh! I'm sorry! Am I waking everyone up! I'm so sorry!

Listen, I'm sat at the rigging now and I can do this one while sitting still, so I won't be making any noise!

Did you go to bed early? [Ace hung out of his bunk, looking at the ceiling with a bored expression.]

'Cause, you definitely sound wide awake.

Uhm... Nope. Not especially.

*In fact, she was pretty sure that maybe she hadn't had that much sleep at all. She drops her voice to a dramatic whisper*

Sorry. I'll be as quiet as I can.

Ahhh, ahhh. It's too late. I'm already awake now and you'll have to deal with me until the rest of the day.

[Or until he fell asleep again.]

Oh...

*She does at least sound rather sorry*

Well, I'll be up fixing this rigging if you need to find me for anything else. I don't mind doing quiet things.

No. Come down here and pull me out of my bunk.

[He was almost out of it.]

Uh...okay?

*So if he gives her a few moments, she'll eventually appear in the doorway to where Ace sleeps. Or at least, she's hoping he's there, since he's so often sneaking into other bunks*

[For once, he was in his own bunk. It was weird. Ace held his arms up in silence, staring upside-downed at Selphie, waiting for her to rescue him.]

*Selphie just rolls her eyes at him, then grabs at his wrists and begins to tug as hard as she can*

Come on, lazybones!

Ah. Almost.

[Inches gave way and eventually Ace's head slammed into the floorboards when Selphie offset his balance.]

There we go. [His neck was at a funny angle.]

*Selphie flinched when his head met the floor, and she quickly sat beside him, frowning at his neck*

Uh... you should move your head... And probably get someone to tie you to your bed at night...

[No!!! He had to sleep as stupidly as possible.]

Ahhh? That wouldn't be comfortable.

Anyway, drag me the rest of the way.

*This, quite clearly, is intensive labour. Selphie squares her shoulders and prepares herself to drag him some more. She's not the weakest person ever, nor the strongest, so it takes a fair bit of tugging and pulling*

Ah, that's good. Good--lifting with your legs. Not with your back.

[Ace, of course, remained limp until Selphie finally got him onto the deck. Then, he lifted himself and stood, reaching over to take off his hat and put it on her head.]

Alright! Time for some work!

*Despite feeling tired and somewhat bothered after dragging Ace around the ship, she beams the moment the hat touches her head*

Aye, aye captain! What are we gonna do?

The rigging. Since the wind hasn't picked up yet and we're navigating by the sun for the moment, I'm gonna put us on half-sail. So, we're gonna make sure everything's secure in case the wind picks up and we wanna jump to full as soon as possible.

So, it's time for some climbing.

Alright! Let's do it!

*Before he has the chance to take his hat back, Selphie goes rushing up towards the rigging. At the bottom, she turns towards him and grins*

Okay, ready? Set. Go!

*And she'll scramble up as fast as she can*

[Ace whistled and then decided to cheat straight away. He jumped up, turning his lower half into fire to decrease his mass. When he got up to the crow's nest, Ace caught the ropes and turned himself back into flesh and blood so he could stand on it.]

Ooh, was I fast?

*She's been concentrating so hard on getting to the top first that she hasn't noticed Ace cheating. It's only when she gets to the top that she looks up under the rim of her hat. She looks shocked and horrified at the same time as she pulls herself up over into the crow's nest*

Heeey! You cheated!

[Ace grinned, crossing his arms while leaning up against the railing of the crow's nest.]

Are you sure? I didn't try to slow you down or anythin'!

Yeah, whatever, Mr Fire Feet. Some of us have only tiny, ladylike hands and feet to climb with you know.

*As she stands she pulls a face at him, complete with sticking out her tongue. Then she leans over the edge of the crow's nest and looks down*

So, the rigging..

Ah, c'mon, I couldn't catch Whitey Bay runnin' up the lines and she's a lady, too! No excuses. [Ace laughed, despite the fact that Selphie had no idea about that lady.]

Anyway-- [Ace reached down, beginning to pull up the lines after sitting down on the post.]

Just watch your balance! Start pullin' the ropes up. When the rope ends, tie it up to the post.

Whitey Bay? Is she some strong powerful lady from your world? Thatch told me all about one once...with nice hair.

*Selphie glances at him, then shakes her head as she struggles to remember what that particular conversation had even been about. So she sets herself about doing as she's told. Selphie manages, but her balance is obviously quite poor*

Ahhh. I guess so. [It was tough for Ace to notice the hair all that much when his focus was always anything fiery. Whitey Bay was the ice-crasher and Ace had a weakness for that kind of personality.

Still, she threw him over the deck and that ended his interest, what with his easily bruised ego.]

She's definitely strong, though. Anyway--if you're gonna fall, fall towards where the rigging and netting goes in our favor so you can grab it. I'm not gonna go catchin' you. [Except he would. Every time.]
