I have encountered the strangest thing. Neither Shotaro nor myself acquired candies before embarking on our journey, and yet there is a small bowl of chocolates here. I have tried many times to dispose of them, dubious of their safety, and yet they always return. I recall hearing of at least one other having come upon this, and that the candies will cause anyone that ingests them to have strange urges based on the words upon the wrapper.

I think perhaps that this notion only makes my inclination to try them stronger.

What, do most people think, would the response to a detective agency opening in the area be? My partner and I were detectives, in Fuuto, and I feel as though a sleuthing technique may prove quite useful to a collection of people prone to piracy. Of course there are certain limitations, but...

That is true. I have a hard time knowing the differences with worlds similar however, I know little of the outside world, and the outside world knows nothing of Gensokyo. My other experiences were from so long ago it is not a good reference to compare to those from the modern age.

I myself am unfamiliar with the term Gensokyo, though I'm not certain if by "outside world" you mean anything outside of the aforementioned term still within your world.

It is used to refer to the world outside Gensokyo, as Gensokyo is an internal world removed from the rest. As I have been told it is a place of "what has been forgotten and what is considered fantasy". I believe it is based on what the world considers to be not "real". Originally it was created as a safe haven for youkai whose existence relies on the belief of humans.

I find this concept a bit alien, and do not quite understand it myself. But it is only to be expected that the world would change in fourteen hundred years.

They are capable of being demonic, yes, but I would say the two are a bit different.
