Philip himself is seated at the back of the little (very little, really, it's a wonder it's sea-worthy) sailboat he and Shotaro have acquired, called The Long Goodbye, boots off and beside him as he trails his feet in the water.]

I have encountered the strangest thing. Neither Shotaro nor myself acquired candies before embarking on our journey, and yet there is a small bowl of chocolates here. I have tried many times to dispose of them, dubious of their safety, and yet they always return. I recall hearing of at least one other having come upon this, and that the candies will cause anyone that ingests them to have strange urges based on the words upon the wrapper.

I think perhaps that this notion only makes my inclination to try them stronger.

What, do most people think, would the response to a detective agency opening in the area be? My partner and I were detectives, in Fuuto, and I feel as though a sleuthing technique may prove quite useful to a collection of people prone to piracy. Of course there are certain limitations, but...

We arrived five days ago, so not very long at all.

And what have you learned in those days?

Mostly that there is very little information bank to draw from in relevant studies. I could learn plenty of the people here by reading and asking questions, but the acclaimed "important" subjects such as the figure behind our assumed kidnapping and the famed jewel we are to seek are more of a challenge to learn about.
