[Honestly, he knows it's a bit of a long shot, especially given that:
1) The one he's about to inquire about can't really survive in the water given the robotic/mech state he's in.
and
2) Tadakatsu would sink a ship the second he got on board. He even told Motochika the same thing some years ago.
However, given that it's that time of new arrivals and all, Ieyasu's going to try. Plus, as much as he's enjoying the sailing around, he does kind of miss having that glorified jet pack around.]
To those currently docked at Isla Empieza, both current crews and new arrivals:
Should you come across a large, metal clad warrior, I ask that you fill me in on his current location as soon as possible. [There's a pause as he takes to thinking a bit.] I would advise against attempting to speak to him, though should one wish to do so, I ask that you mention the name "Ieyasu Tokugawa" before engaging in any further conversation. My name alone should be enough for Tadakatsu to give you his full attention.
[Of course, attempting to understand Tadakatsu is a whole other story. And that happens to be one that Ieyasu's not going to get into right now.]
Any who are able to supply me with this information, or any information at all that may lead to finding Tadakatsu, will have my complete gratitude in doing so.

voice;
I have heard of Chosokabe, and that there appear to be two of him? I'm not certain of Akechi. I have "met", though not in person, a Magoichi Saika. [She explained the two Motochika thing already.]
voice;
Ah, so you're aware of them both co-existing here. One is currently the captain of the Katabami, and one I call one of my closest friends. The other captains another ship, though I only met him briefly during the Christmas holidays. As for Lord Mitsuhide, you'll find him sailing with the latter. [But hello. Name of his ally?] Have you now? Which Magoichi Saika would this be?
[Besides the fact of it being a title, one can never be too certain if it happens to be the one they know when having faced alternate versions already.]
voice;
[He hums in thought, mentally storing this information away.]
Magoichi Saika... Leader of the Saika Faction. She had announced an alliance with Chōsokabe and his crew upon the Katabami. Are there more than one of her, as well?
voice;
[Even if that's hard to believe, giving how Magoichi herself is like.]
Though the one you mention is one I know very well. And if she has allied herself with Motochika and those of the Katabami, then I suppose I'll be seeing her soon enough.
[And then something hits him. All this stuff about talking people he knew and he has no idea who it is he's talking to.]
I hope you don't mind, but might I ask for your name?
voice;
That was something she had made mention of in the ...I suppose you could call it a journal entry, that I responded to in order to communicate with her.
[A brief laugh.] My name is Philip. It is good to meet you.
voice;
I must have missed her announcement then. [Then again, the journal still confuses him, so one can't really blame him. Giving historical figures magic journals is like asking for forever confusion.]
And the same to you, Philip. Of course, I would introduce myself, but you already know that and, I assume, much more.
[Going by the earlier statement of having done research, of course.]
