1st Wave [voice]
It's the first time I've ever heard of something like this.
Are all the books in this world the same?
[Weirdness aside, Nami has had a bit of time to digest what's happened to her. She does not like being stripped away from her quest, not at all. Saving her entire race is pretty important, you know. But considering what she's learned of the Piedra Roja so far, what comes next seems easy enough.]
Anyways, my name is Nami and humans know me better as a mermaid. I've never actually been part of a crew, or had much reason to use a boat, but I know how to work with a team and I'm pretty comfortable in the ocean. I can harm and I can heal, like the seas themselves.
[It's kind of where she lived for most of her life, after all.]
I'm not really looking for anybody in specific, but if anyone out there has heard of a "moonstone"...
[Nami stops talking for a moment.]
It's really important that I find one.
[Unlikely that she'll get anything out of that, but she may as well try.]

Voice
[At first he sounds rather disbelieving, and then with a residing sigh he decides to just accept it.]
Well, at least you're not a vampire.
So what do you call yourselves if you don't mind me asking?
Voice
[And yes, Nami is glad she's not a vampire. Though, she may only know a little bit about vampires.]
I'd show you what I look like, but I don't think I can do that with this thing.
Voice
[He tests the word, memorizing the syllables.]
I can make a generalization from your title, but I'm guessing you're no Ariel.
[But he means that in a good way.]
I would be interested in meeting you though. Not just because you're a Marai, but also because you mentioned having the ability to heal.
Voice
But sure, I don't mind seeing you.
Are you on the same island I woke up on?
[The one with the weird name.]
Voice
Uh, not sure, but I would assume so, this place seems to be pretty used to dealing with people who randomly came out of the sky.
[He clicks his tongue as he moves about to find the name of the place.]
...Isla... Empieza..? Sound about right to you?
Voice
Still, you'll have to tell me about that story sometime.
[She's curious to know what it's like on the other side.]
And yeah, that's the one. We can meet up near the fountain. Sound alright to you?
Voice ---> ACTION
[He'll tell you whatever you want, Nami, you just have to ask.]
Alright, meet you there.
[Action]
[And with that he headed out, still dressed the way he had been when he arrived. He didn't look much like a Doctor at the moment, but hey he was technically on leave. First thing he did when he reached the fountain was look inside the waters, wondering if she was in there.]
Nami?
no subject
[Nami appears from behind the fountain instead. Though she looks very much like a mermaid, her tail is, for some reason, not actually touching the floor. It's through some unseen force that she's able to stay floating just a few inches above ground.]
Surprised?
Action
Little bit.
[He says with a smile, walking towards her in order to meet halfway.]
You are....
[Fascinating, beautiful, ethereal...]
...beyond words.
[And then suddenly he recalls something, and mentally kicks himself for it.]
I'm Ozaki Toshio by the way, sorry for the late introduction.
Action
[Nami laughs and smiles in response. She knows that her kind aren't exactly a common sight, whether in this world or however many others might be out there.
Reactions like his are expected, but no less endearing.]
Do I look at all like your world's Ariel?
Action
Hm....?
[At her question he makes a show of looking her over critically, a hand on his chin.]
Well you both have tails, long flowing hair...[he looks into her eyes.] But honestly Ariel has nothing on you.
...
[He scratches the back of his head.] Hm, guess that sounds a little weird. [he doesn't mean to flirt, really. But everything that slips out seems to be going in that direction. And now he's concerned about making her feel awkward.]
Action
It's pretty easy for the real thing to be better than what you'd find in stories and rumors. [Nami's too busy being proud of herself to feel awkward right now.]
But I don't think this is actually hair.[Nami touches the side of her head. Before starting to remove the headpiece she's wearing.] Or I guess I've just never had it called that.
It's too different than what humans have, if you ask me.
[It's not long before it's removed altogether.]
See?
Action
[He watched her closely as he took away the headpiece. It's true; you couldn't really call that hair. But he wasn't really sure what to call it.]
[And he found himself unable to resist the temptation to just, reach out and touch it. But he does stop himself, looking to her for permission first.]
May I?
Action
It's kind of attached to her.]
