[Asch has been stuck on this island for one night and he already hates it. It's not even a particularly nasty island, but this town is full of people who don't want anything to do with him-- and he doesn't want anything to do with them, either. Plus, when he asked about people dying, he got a door slammed in his face. Rude.

Having figured out that the journal is capable of both recorded and written communication, he's taking advantage of it while he lingers in the town square.]

Is there no one on this island who knows how to operate a boat? I have enough money to buy a small ship, but hiring crewmen is impossible. These people won't even take gold for it. This is a seaside community; having no one who will steer a boat makes no sense. They're avoidant on purpose.

[He hmphs a bit.]

Finding a company of competent people is going to be harder than I thought.

[He sucks in a breath through his teeth.]

There's nothing to be gained from getting too friendly. I don't have anything I can give to them; they don't have anything I need.

And that's fine. ... It's fine.

[bloodheels]

If your talking about the natives, it is true. They don't have anything for they are rather scared of us. I don't blame them. For those not native there is a lot that they have that you might need.

[sacredashes]

Like what?!

[He scowls at the journal, invisibly. Before he realizes it, he's slamming his fist against a nearby wall.]

How could you possibly know what I have? What I need? You don't know a damn thing! Why are you so-- you're so--!

[YOU DON'T KNOW MY LIFE YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT I'VE BEEN THROUGH god I'm so sorry, Lenalee.]

[bloodheels]

[She keeps rather calm all things considering.]

Food, the necessities to sail, that kind of thing. [She pauses for a moment, she is wondering what that was about, but she knew she shouldn't try and pry into it too much.]

I might not right now, but I would like to get to know you at least.

voice;

[sacredashes]

[He's having some issues adjusting to being a dead guy who isn't dead. He'll get over it.] I'm plenty capable of gathering supplies myself.

[But that last bit gives him a pause. He's so dumbstruck, he doesn't even know what to say.]

What?

[bloodheels]

Did I say something wrong?

[She wasn't sure what she said was confusing.]

I said I would like to get to know you.

voice;

[Asch makes a startled noise. He's never been aggressively friended before. He doesn't know how to deal with people. He doesn't know how to deal with this.

He hesitates, and then he shuts the journal roughly. He's upset and he can't figure out why.]
