For Tamaki:

It says a lot, probably, that it's just about half an hour after dawn when Kyouya appears on deck. He hasn't been sleeping, and it shows. Then again, he's been keeping to himself since their argument, nursing his wounds and trying to figure out how to bridge the silence.

But he knows none of the others are likely to be awake yet. Only Tamaki.

Who, thankfully, is up. And looking out to sea.

So, Kyouya walks over to him, silent as he leans against the rail. There's a lot to say, a lot to do, but he knows most of it won't come. So, instead, he puts his hand beside Tamaki's. Pinkie to pinkie, side to side. The faintest of touches. He won't do more. He'll leave that to Tamaki. Either to walk away or to take his hand.

His voice is very low, almost exhausted, as he offers:]

My mother and father never fought. At least, we never saw them fight. My father's word was law.

So... I don't know what I'm suppposed to do now.

[He knows he should apologize. But... he's as stubborn as Tamaki here. Neither of them think they're wrong. Why should they pretend they do?

He's just tired of this silence. Of this isolation.


General:

After his talk with Tamaki, Kyouya goes below and uses a small blade to afix something to the door of Haruhi's bunk.

It's a drawing, left for her and easily seen by others.

For the rest of the day, he can actually be found around the ship, up on deck, rather than hidden away in his cabin, only appearing for meals.]


[Written:

Around sunset, Kyouya is on deck with his journal. He opens the book and writes in it.]

141 days.

Almost five months.

At least the witch is dead. Just in time, too, for the next wave of newcomers, which I'm sure will happen soon. Like clockwork, almost.

Hopefully we'll hear from Dog. She missed her usual day, but sometimes she does.

[Tamaki as always suddenly appears behind the laughing twin and pokes him.]

Very Hitatchiin like indeed!

[He bats Tamaki's hand away, trying to stifle his laughter to get some words out.]

Did you hear?! Can you imagine Kyouya-senpai--! [And he loses it again, eyes tearing up from the laughter.] It's ridiculous! Completely ridiculous! Who would spit nuts?!

Not him.. that's for sure.

I'm not even sure why you'd have to do it~!

[He breathes deeply, gasping for air and forcing himself to calm down. He wipes his eyes, a few tears having spilled. He's still got a huge grin on his face, and his composure may break again at any second.]

It's definitely a new technique! Just picture it! When someone stops listening--just spit at them! [Now that the idea's been put in his head, Tamaki had better watch out.]

Won't that hurt~!?!?!?!?

I mean...it will hurt right? [And its gross.]

Of course it'd hurt! You're--[his laughter starts bubbling up again]--you're spitting nuts at them! What do you do if that doesn't work? Do you start throwing bigger things at them?! How big can it get before it's too much?! [A whole new world of throwing politics and logistics has been opened to him.] It's so stupid!

[And now he has to turn around. His face puffing up, and his hand trying to cover his mouth.]

[And then there's a long chain of laughter.]

THAT.... THAT...

THAT IS SO CRAZY!!!

[Now it's his turn to poke Tamaki, grinning ear to ear.]

It doesn't make sense! Who would do that?! Stupid, it's so stupid!

It almost sounds like something you'd come up with, it's that stupid!

[Then suddenly all the laughter paused as he glared at Hikaru.]

WHAT DO YOU MEAN SOMETHING I'D COME UP WITH????

[Two of his favourite things in one day! Ridiculous ideas, and riling Tamaki.]

It takes a lot of stupidity to come up with something like that as a business strategy. It's right up your alley!

[It would probably be more harsh if he weren't still grinning.]

[And now, his hands shall comfortably reach for Hikaru's neck and strangle him.]

[And he's back to laughing again! Though it's more of a cackle now. He immediately puts his hands on Tamaki's wrists in reaction to the choking, but they've done this so many times before that he doesn't have any concerns about his safety. Besides, he knows that Tamaki will never actually hurt him.]

I bet you'd throw something completely wrong, like tea leaves! Or a rock! [Because it would either be completely ineffectual (tea leaves) or too much (a rock). There is no middle ground.]

[His hands were still on Hikaru's neck, but he pauses all movements.]

Is that a challenge?

Haruhi. [She's the most likely to be unbiased.] What's the prize?

Alright! [At least it won't be Kaoru.]

Who ever wins, gets to call dibs on the room next to Haruhi and Karen's room. The remaining officer room! [He stays at the master cabin though.]

[Of course he wouldn't choose Kaoru to be the judge - he fully expects his twin to be interested in participating, not judging. He knocks Tamaki's hands away from his neck to grasp one of them in an over-the-top manly sportsmanlike manner.]

We'll begin when we get back to Isla Empieza. Whoever can get the most good-natured attention by throwing nuts at strangers, wins!

[By which he means, "whoever can throw the most nuts and get away with it".]

[But upon hearing the name he extends his hand as well and shakes Hikaru's hands.]

Who else will be joining us?

Of course; anyone can get attention by just throwing things at people. The challenge is that we have to do it without pissing them off.

[He shrugs at the question of who else will join them. Kaoru's been busy lately, but he might have time... He won't sign him up without asking, though. If there's one person Hikaru has genuine consideration for, it's Kaoru.]

We'll limit it to our own crew, for now. Anyone except Haruhi can play!

Okay! Mhmmm... Maybe I should ask Kyouya too........

[He only has one thing to say to the question of possibility.]

You're our King, aren't you? [The way he says 'King' is teasing, and it sounds more like a jibe than anything else; he's only used that word because he knows what the likely reaction to it will be.

In other words, he's expecting Tamaki to use his Host Club skills to get through it. He won't offer any more hints than this, though - it'll be funnier for him if Tamaki doesn't realize he can use his charm for this game.]
