1st Dime $ Arrival on Isla Empieza $ [VOICE]

[Without any warning or provocation a voice sounded over the journals. The most notable aspect of this broadcast was the rich Scottish accent that accompanied it.]

I want some answers, and I want them now.

[The irritation was evident in the way the words were emphasized. Despite the brief message from someone going by the name Scurvey Dog, Scrooge McDuck was not satisfied. The magical journal wasn't the most unfathomable part of this scenario. His inventor, Gyro Gearloose, could have concocted something like this... and if it actually was magic, well he'd run into enough of that within his life too.]

I demand to speak to the man in charge..............

[There was a slight pause in words, but he had one more thing to say before he was finished.]

Jones has some nerve kidnaping Scrooge McDuck. He obviously doesn’t know who he’s dealing with. Time is money, and I don’t have any time to waste. Now where is this blaggard?

Drrraw it? [He answered a touch incredulously. Scrooge was looking for answers himself, and it didn't seem like this boy was going to be able to help him with that.] I'm much too busy... [Hadn't that been what he'd always told his nephews when they first came to live with him?]

Alright, just give me a few minutes.. and don't expect it to be as clear as a photograph.

[A soft giggle of amusement came as the Television Show was formed. It was a very silly looking thing.]

What is a photograph, Mister Scrooge?

[Maybe he should have asked the boy not to laugh.. but he gave his drawing a look and chuckled lightly with him. It did look pretty ridiculous as opposed to the genuine article]

You've never heard of a photograph? [Here we go again] Well it's a picture- kind of like a drawing only it is produced by a different means.

Using a camera, you could just point it, click a button and a copy of the scene before you would be replicated on the film inside it. [Yeah he knew there were a lot more terms in there the kid might question]

Do y'mind if I ask a question of my own? Where is it that you're from, laddie?

Hyrule. The Kokiri Forest. I am a Kokiri.

Hyrule.. Kokiri forest? [He sounded them out softly, to see if there was anything about those words he recognized. Nope. They were new to him]

So Kokiri is also the name of your people? [We'd call that a clan back in Scotland]

[Now you're just showing off. Simple as it was, the boy's drawing just looked better]

A warrior class, are ya'? [At least it looked like a sword and a shield]

[Alright, alright, I was just teasing. Don't get your kilt in a twist]

[Even though the boy couldn't see it, he shook his head. The boy just sounded too young to be a warrior]

That would put a crimp in things. How'd you manage to do that?

[Link started to write it out, but gave up after the first couple words. It was a lot to say and his hand was getting cramped.]

Mister Sasuke trapped the ship around the Nav to stop his brother from using it and I tried to disable the traps and got caught in one and it snapped me up by my leg like a deku baba. It hurts a lot.

[............. Yeah, whatever you just said there boy was all foreign to him.]

The Nav, that's that device that transports people over long distances, isn't it?

[He picked out bits and pieces to try to make sense of it]

Whatever a deku baba is, it sounds terribly painful. [This trap conjured up the image of a traditional bear trap..] I'm sure it's a great discomfort now, but you're young yet and if you've got it set properly it should mend just fine.

Yeah. The Nav is on every ship and there's one at the Backwater Brig. You can get to a ship from there. Do you have a ship yet?

[He said this as he sketched out another drawing.]

Deku Baba.

A man eating plant..? [Admittedly, he was distracted by the picture for a moment] It sounds like I could have a grand adventure in this Hyrule of yours... assuming a deku baba is from there and not an island here.

Not as of yet, but from all the talk I've been hearing I'm tempted to snap one up for meself.

[At the time of this entry, he hadn't purchased a ship yet. ~~ooc: Though I did get him a ship yesterday. He is crazy enough to head out alone.. and he was antsy to look into the black coral and the witch information provided by the dog~~]

Deku Baba's are in the forest. They're monsters brought by the evil that 'per-me-ates' the land. That's what the Great Deku Tree said.

[There was just a little bit of sadness to his voice before he perked up.]

You should join our crew! After whatever's going on is over and Mister Itachi isn't trying to hurt us because of the magic spell.

Aye lad, you've nearly got it. "Permeates". [He repeated to help the other along] For someone to go to all that trouble.. there must be something valuable there. [Unless this "evil" just sought domination]

That is something to consider. Ship's are usually fairly structured I canna imagine what sort of position they'd reserve for a duck like me.

[Time for him to reminisce himself]

Ah- it sure brings back memories. One of my first jobs was on board a ship. I was the ship's cabin boy.. [He chuckled] .. but I'm too advanced in years to be considered a boy now.

What's the name of your ship, and just as importantly what is it that your captain and crew are hoping to achieve?

[If their goals were too different, they might just end up getting on each other's nerves]

Could you run that last part by me again? This I-ta-chi.. [He paused after trying to repeat it] There sure are a lot of Asian sounding names here... [Then he got back on track] This Itachi fellow, you say he's taken leave of his senses?

[He didn't comment about the valuable thing the Deku Tree had been guarding, purposely skipping over the comment to continue the rest of the discussion.]

The Charming Murderess. Captain Jack named it before he disappeared. I'm the cabin boy. Mister Itachi is one of a lot of people on other ships that have been put under a curse to make them act against their friends. Captain Marvelous says we got lucky that only one of our crew was affected.

[The avoidance of that subject didn't go unnoticed, but he really had nothing to fear. If it already belonged to someone, it's not like he would steal it. ~~Scrooge might be tempted to if the treasure was that rare or valuable but... really.. he was against outright theft~~]

Murderess? An interesting choice of words... [They didn't actually murder people did they?] I suppose it's intended to frighten off other vessels.

Are ye' now? [It seemed like the perfect position for the lad. It almost got him started on all the things he could teach the other about the position..] The witch business again? Aye, he's right on that count though it's a shame to have any fall under a witch's spell.

I think the name shouldn't be so mean. But he said that the girl he named it after was a charming murderess so it's an honest name.

Itachi is usually quiet and keeps to himself. But now he's attaching anyone he can. And I can't help fix it because of my leg. I can't even act as look out for the ship anymore.

She must have been a regular spitfire, that one. [He's still not sure whether this girl actually murdered anyone.... and his own love interest was charming, and came after him with a shotgun enough for him to kind of overlook the potentially darker nature of this backstory]

That must be one terrible spell.. [Yes he had experience with spells and curses too] Are you at least holed up somewhere where it would be harder for this Itachi fellow to find you? You don't want to risk getting more than a broken leg. [The situation on the other ship was sounding more dire by the second]

Yeah. I'm locked in a room where he can't get to me.

Hang in there, lad. Is anyone else on your crew trying to combat or restrain Itachi?

Yes. I think most of them are. But he's really good at hiding, just like his brother.
