[After a rather interesting run-in with a certain witch, Chandra decides that perhaps it's time to actually use the stupid book. Not that she'd have waited too terribly long, because hell, the idea of a magic notebook is actually somewhat intriguing.

When she speaks into the recorder, there's an odd bubbling sound, and her voice is modulated strangely at first.]

Right, so. I guess this thing works. If it doesn't then I'm talking at a book like a moron.

First of all, I'm new here. My name's Chandra and apparently I'm stuck here like the rest of you. That's...a pretty new experience for me, to be completely honest and I'm not sure how to take it. But then, what can you do.

With that in mind, I guess the normal thing to do seems to be finding some people to sail with and find this weird gem, and I guess that's the next order of business. I'm a Task Mage by trade, meaning that I do all sorts of odd jobs and I often do them with magic. Hire me on and you'll have artillery without compare. I've never found a ship, door, wall, or bad guy I can't take care of, or a mountain I can't craterize. [She pauses, laughing cheerily.] And my favorite way to destroy something is utterly, so...if you've got problems just point me at 'em and stand clear and they won't be problems anymore.

Also, I've been on a ship a few times, enough to know my way around but not enough to get into any real trouble...and if it's physical stuff you need done I'm pretty good for that too. And if I can't? One of my little buddies can take care of it. And if that's not enough, I'm also young, hot, and full of stories. Some of them not fit for children.

[She lets out a little cackle, and the modulation in her voice stops, her tone getting a little bit more serious too.]

Also, that witch that was talking about sending people home? That's a bust. Ignore her. She's just trying to steal energy or something. I destroyed the construct she's using, but I figure it'll be back later on tonight or tomorrow. Also, do yourself a favor and steer clear of the plaza for an hour or two.

Oh, and if you don't like talking over these journal things? I'll be at the bar.

[And as promised, she can be found at said bar, and never without a drink in hand.]

[Well, Chandra's there at the bar, with a flagon of something that's actually on fire in her hand, grinning and laughing at something the barkeeper's saying.]

*Okay, a drink on fire merits a double take and him wandering in your direction.* ...did that drink come like that?

[She stirs it with a finger idly]

No, why?

Just not something I see every day. *Clearly he's dealing with the rare genuine magic user and not someone who uses bracelets like he did.*

I read your entry. You were saying something about a witch?

[Rare indeed, Planeswalkers are one in a trillion, if that.]

Yeah, the one by the fountain?

I saw someone sitting by the fountain but all these messages started appearing in the journal so I didn't get a chance to talk to her. I guess that turned out to be a good thing.

Yeah, steer clear of it. She's some sort of psychic predator, I think.

Sy-kik? *That was an unfamiliar word. It must mean magic and if the witch was a magical predator, then avoiding would be best. Except...*

Where did she even come from, or does no one know the answer to that?

It means mental magic, the kind that gets in your head.

[Shrug!]

And I don't have any idea, nobody else seemed to either.

Mental magic? Then she must be really dangerous.

*He considers her next words.* So not even the people who've lived here a long time know who she is? That's not the kind of thing I wanted to run into just first arriving here!

Same here. I've been here less than a day myself.

[She sips her drink, seemingly unbothered by the heat.]

Where are you from then, if not here?

*That's a talent!* Originally? Just a small village like any other in mid-Europa. I've been to other kingdoms around the continent and I was sailing off for more exploring, then I ended up here.

Ah, fair enough. Some backwater plane then. I've never heard of Europa, but then I get the feeling we're all from somewhere else.

That's what it seems like, the more I think about how we all got here. So how powerful does someone have to be to take people from...everywhere?

Oh, well...I guess if I knew the right spells I could. I don't think it's a matter of sheer power, it's the means and reason to do it. From what I hear though, this Jones guy? Is something of a local demigod.

So a demigod wants to steal people from everywhere because...*he trails off because how do you get into the mind of someone like that, exactly?*

Who knows. I sure don't.

*He is an adult, he swears. He just looks a little young for 19.* Adol Christin. How about you?

[She raises her glass.]

Nice to meet you, Chandra. *He's usually so good with talking to people but he's at a loss for words. She is very nice looking but she doesn't strike him the type to take kindly to idle comments.* Did anyone else from your homeland end up here with you?

I don't have a home. I destroyed the plane when my Spark ignited.

[It's flat, simple, a statement of fact without regret.]

But no, there aren't any individuals here I'm familiar with. Though Jace may be following me shortly. If you run into a man with glowing blue eyes, in dark blue robes? That's him.

*No home? Adol usually never hangs his sword for very long anywhere, but he did have a home and a village, once upon a time.*

Glowing eyes? Does he set things on fire too? *Maybe it's just something her people do.*

No, he's a mind mage. I'm a pyromancer. He's not a fan of...let's say...what I do.

So you're both rival magicians? *Man, some places had it rough!*

Rival, nah. Frenemy. We work together sometimes. Other times, we try and kill each other. You know how it goes.

[Basically Jace is an asshole and a troll. And she's an asshole and a troll right back.]
