VOICE❧
[ Sometime in the middle of the night, there will be a strange sort of chattering from the journals. It's definitely not human in any way, but doesn't sound like any kind of native rodent found in this world. It lasts for a few seconds too long in-between sniffing and what could be deciphered as claws scratching at a furry face before another voice can be heard in the background. ]
Grace? [ Yaaaaaawn. For those who have spoken with Amy before, it's easy to tell it's her even while she's half-asleep. ] What are you doing? That's not a toilet or food.
[ Another yawn, this time stifled by something covering her mouth. ] Hello? Is anyone awake?

So, he decided to be a part of it.]
Yeah, all of us evil ghosts haunting your room are totally awake now. Thanks for waking us up.

Are you guys responses for the strange noises in the wind? A lot of people are worried about that!
no subject
Haunting your chamber pot and some creaky floorboards. The windy noise chick is our boss.
no subject
Um, well I don't think that really makes you a loser. Someone has to do the job and the ones who are brave enough to face that really should be appreciated more.
So thank you!
no subject
Well, shit, I don't think any ghost haunting a chamber pot can be anything but a loser.
You don't look at a janitor and go, 'That guy's going places.'
More like, 'That's the place that guy's gonna be in forever.'

[ Suddenly it makes more sense why she's so nice, huh?! ]
I don't want to have to be the one cleaning the chamber pots...
no subject
Oh, right. That's how death works. Just so you know.
no subject
Can ghosts who watch over chamber pots really retire? I thought maybe you'd have to go haunt something else...
no subject
What you really need to think about is how you can effectively haunt a chamber pot more than what the chamber pot does all on its lonesome.

--But you get what I mean, right?

[TOILET OR FOOD?!]

Animals have to use the restroom and eat too. What better to use than a bunch of papers? She's very well trained!

Wait a second it's late! You should sleep, Amy.
[voice]
[Codi's never slept well to begin with, and despite being on this ship for a couple months now she hasn't improved.]
Do I want to know what's keeping you awake, or should I just let you go back to sleep?
no subject
[ Sheepishly admitting this. ] I think Grace is just a bit wound up is all. She hasn't been bothering you while I'm not looking, has she?
no subject
[...and is too cute for Codi to be mad at even if she did.]
Do you want some tea or something while you're up? I was about to make myself some anyways.
no subject
I'll head on over if that's all right?
[voice/action]
[As she is, wrapped in a blanket and gently sipping from a cup of steaming herbal blend. There is a metal pan of water next to her, but it is open to the air and already cold.]
no subject
Hey, sorry if I was slow. [ Amy took every bit of caution she could to not accidentally knock into something to wake the others. ] Is that the tea?
[ Don't mind her getting in close without a care in the world for personal boundaries. ]
no subject
[Instead she waves, takes a gulp of her bitter tea and places it on the counter.] --Nah, you weren't slow, I've just had this out for a while. Get some leaves bundled--
[The ginger points down the counter to the tin of fancy dried tea leaves she purchased in Port Chance. She could have done this herself, but then she wouldn't have a way to distract Amy while she heated the water.]
--grab a cup and I'll get this ready again. [She grabs the kettle and turns her back.] Two seconds.

[ She defends her pet's pride by saying something completely ridiculous. ]
Paperwork though? What are you working on other than paper? I mean it has to be important if you're up this late!
no subject
[Yeah, Maribelle is just gonna... pretend she doesn't find it all as ridiculous as it sounds. Just as soon as she can figure out how to do it without being sarcastic.]
As for what I'm working on, I'm keeping a detailed record of all the supplies our ship has. This way we can set a time table for when our crew needs to return to port to re-stock our supplies, and we can adjust accordingly with new arrivals. Some will eat more than others, and some will eat less, and it's important to get a good balance so that food doesn't spoil, or people won't go hungry. Normally I'd have finished hours ago, but today we had a bit of a birthday celebration, so it threw off my schedule slightly.
no subject
Oh wow, you had a party? Happy birthday to the lucky person!
[ If only she paid attention to her journal, she would have known about it. ] Regardless, you're very responsible and wise to pay attention to that sort of thing. I remembered the one time I found some spoiled meat in the fridge ughhhhh... I don't want to remember that now that I've mentioned it.
