[After discovering how her journal might work in this thread, Maribelle wastes no time in trying an entry of her own.]

To all those capable of reading this message, I would like to announce that I fully intend to form a company of individuals who are sick of the lowborn filth and scum known as pirates. For too long have I witnessed the innocent have their livelihoods and lives threatened by these brigands, and now I have been shanghaied to work for one?! No I say! We must take a stand together as one, and defend this world from these hooligans at every turn!

There will never be peace in this world if we simply let pirate ransack, pillage, and steal from whoever they please. So I'm issuing a call to the masses, rally to me all of you who wish to see Justice. Rally to me those who are confused and live in fear of being squashed under the heel of this pirate menace. Rally to me all of ye people who wish to see a brighter tomorrow, for I shall not rest until we all can see it!

[Maribelle blinks in surprise, having not realized that the journal could be used for... speaking. Of course, that only translates into a bit of a pause as she gathers her thoughts.]

Yes... well thank you very much good sir. I thought that perhaps it was what people needed most in these troubled times to give them hope.

[A book wasn't the most intuitive shape to speak into, but it wasn't that much worse than talking to possessed swords or clothing. So he managed, continuing his spirited, approving tone] You'd be correct; hope shines bright like a light in the darkness. It seems like you've had experience in inspiring hope.

You... you flatter me kind sir, but in truth I would have to disagree. I have little personal experience when it comes to inspiring hope in others, as I feel I have not had the opportunity to do so terribly much in my lifetime...

[There's a deep breath from Maribelle before she continues.]

And as Knight Justice, I'll do my duty as well, even in this different world. [Still pumped by her words, always self-absorbed, it didn't even cross his mind that her offer of crewmanship was open to himself.]

A knight of justice you say? It sounds like you led a rather important role in your world.

[Well Maribelle is a little used to the type to be honest, so she's wondering that perhaps she might be able to sway him through other methods.]

A true, legitimate hero! A fighter of evil across land or sea! Uh, it was usually more of the former than the latter, but heroes can adapt for any habitat.

A hero you say? A vanquisher of evil, and a paragon of honor and chivalry?

Mighty hero, might I impose upon you to help me in my quest? There shall no doubt be perilous dangers, but I feel that if you were to help us in our dire cause we might just stand a chance of defeating the evils of this land... and sea. With you, I feel we shall be able to defend the innocent, defeat the dastardly, and return the shining ray of hope and light to the world.

[Okay... she might be laying it on a little thick, but all of it was honest at least. He seemed the type to respect grand spoken gestures and heroic monologues much like her Darling Lissa's son Owain. Clearly these two must meet someday]

Or maybe he's just in his comfort zone] An alliance would bring a lot of power and efficiency but - ["But I've always worked only with people that saw me as their equal. Partners." are the unspoken words] I'll consider it.
