☠ Second Log | [Written] ☠

[During the evening of the 20th, a very short journal entry appears, written in large but neat handwriting.]

Please tell me about the worlds you come from.

Humans were born from a substance known as Dust into a world without hope. The creatures of Grimm, monsters who have no souls, tried to destroy them. Humans learned how to use dust to manipulate the natural world around them and developed civilization into the four kingdoms that are present today. These kingdoms are protected by Hunters and Huntresses, many of whom use dust produced by companies like the Schnee Dust Company.

Obviously there is a lot more history than that, but I'm not about to give you a history lesson. There are entire classes for that for a reason.

What about yours?

Dust is a form of energy in Remnant. It comes out in crystals when you mine it, then it can be refined into cut crystals and a powdered form. The powdered form is the most dangerous to carry around for those who don't know how to use it, since it can be highly explosive. If you know how to use your Aura, it isn't that bad, but anyone who doesn't would end up dead in a second if they so much as sneezed around loose Dust.

[ Which she knows first hand. Because Ruby sneezed and exploded them both. ]

Yes! We have air ships from mine as well! Water ships are used, but mostly for cargo. Air ships are much more common for passengers. You use air ships for everything in your world?

Moonstones? As in rocks from the moon or jewelry?

You can mine the moon for fuel in your world?
whiteas: (That'd better be a joke!)

[ Oh that is not what Weiss wanted to hear. As the daughter of a big company herself who is frequently a victim of getting their shipments raided by jerks like this, she's immediately decided that this person is not one she likes. Someone who used to and then realized that it wasn't right she could accept, but this person's flouting that behavior like it's something to be proud of. ]

What's your name?

Weiss Schnee and I don't plan on forgetting your name.

[ At least it will be.. easy to remember... Weiss, Vyse.. similar sounds. ]

My planet has been at war with Gamilas for 8 years. They've been bombarding Earth with radioactive planet bombs. The surface of the entire planet is uninhabitable. Most of the population has moved into underground city's but the radiation was slowly reaching deeper. When I was brought here there were 211 days before the radiation reached the underground cities.

It's both the name of aliens that's attacking us and their planet.
[Kodai has found that fact to have made their strategy meetings very confusing lately.]

We were contacted by a planet called Iscandar that offered help. They even gave us the technology to do so. I was assigned to the ship that was being sent there. We had made the final warp when I ended up here.

Not just planets, we were meters away from the surface of a star. [Something he never wants to repeat again. He's not quite sure how they didn't end up incinerated trying that stunt.]

I was the ship's Tactical Officer. Disappearing from the ship in the middle of a battle is going to cause chaos. We're already missing [ he started to write something but it was quickly turned to a scribble] someone.

[Horrible is an understatement.]
So what's it like we're you're from?
shydancer: (could you turn the other way?)

Do you mean in general? Or where we're from within our worlds?

[For Olivia, that's Regna Ferox. But, in general, there's Ylisse, Plegia, and Valm involved. So she wants to make sure before she goes telling about everything that won't make her sound crazy.]
shydancer: (i think i'm really helping.)

[Well, she supposes she can start with where she's from. And if anything is asked about the rest, she'll do that!]

Where I'm from is a snowy country called Regna Ferox, where the people pride themselves on their strength and skill in battle. The ruling leaders are called Khan, though only one Khan can rule at a time and are chosen when one of their champions win the fighting tournament. Currently Flavia, the East-Khan, rules Ferox.

It's really quite the lovely place. That is, if you're of the fighting type.

[Or if you happened to be the boasting of Basilio.]

And what about your world? What is it like?
shydancer: (don't put the dog in there.)

[personal profile] shydancer 2013-12-31 08:37 am (UTC)(link)
It definitely is the kind of place that I have no problem calling 'home'.

[Even if she was pretty much the only Feroxi to not love fighting.

At the reading of the people having all disappeared, she starts writing out a question about how before scribbling it out as much as possible. It was probably best she not worry much about it, especially if there seemed to be a lack of knowledge on the natives.
]

If you don't mind, could you tell me more about it? I mean, about Windmill Isle.

[It takes a brief moment for his reply to sink in. Using a name to disguise somewhere was strange, but she could understand the reasoning. Kind of.]

Oh, so you were a pirate prior to arriving here then?

The world I'm from is amazing. [Okay honestly, he doesn't know much about the world itself and knows more about where he lives and the events that happen. Then again, maybe his home is his world who knows.]

I don't know much outside of where I lived, but there are plenty of nice people, like my young master. Occasionally people will die in one way or another, but not always. Which is good, yet bad at the same time because sometimes good people die.
