*When Selphie speaks up over her journal, some might catch the tail end of a sigh*

So, more people have been disappearing... A whole bunch of people seem to arrive here at the same time, but the people who leave - They just poof, disappear into thin air whenever.

There's not a trace of him left... Just the stuff he left behind in his workshop. But he's really gone.

Guess that's why we should make the most of the time we have with the new friends we make. You never know when one morning you'll go to talk to someone that...just won't be here anymore.

*She clears her throat, signalling the end of her comfort zone*

*And she smiles fondly at that. But her tone changes with that question, and Selphie shakes her head before realising she has to speak up*

[Her reply happens several minutes later, when the murderous edge leaves her voice and she can talk sensibly again.]

...Wow, that's too bad!

[Thank goodness Ihrie wasn't the one that ended up buying those supplies in Port Chance, else Codi would be dead for this. But...still! She wasted so much coin on that junk! What a pain.]

But you said he left behind his...workshop? Do you think anyone could finish the work he started?

*Selphie just blinks at her journal for a while, wondering if that girl is gonna come back*

Uhm... Yeah, it does suck.

*And she'd say more about it if she knew about the money thing*

It's all still there. I dunno - no one on our ship has a clue about it anyway. It's all just kinda...sitting there.

...Huh.

[The gears are turning...maybe she can still salvage this?]

If you're looking for a home for it, my captain is pretty good with electronics and things. Like, he's built robots before, and they are on the ship with us. He knows his stuff and would really appreciate the new toys.

Really? Who's your captain, cause that sounds like a pretty awesome job! What kinda robots does he build?

I'd have to ask Ace about it, but if he agrees then maybe we can figure this out and you can get the stuff.

They do all kinds of things! Mostly rap, though. Rapbots! They're fun.

Dirk Strider is my captain. He's head of the Sinewave and a real stick in the mud. I figure, maybe if we get him some nice tools to distract himself with, he might be a little more fun to be around.

*At least she can't see her roll her eyes - she guessed that might be who it was*

Oh, I see... Are you sure you want him to get his hands on all that equipment? I mean, I read his poetry... It was a bit - mad.

*And he doesn't seem nearly as sophisticated or as clever as the Doctor*

Poetry? The kid can monologue if you get him going, sure, but it's not like he waxes poetic when he does...

...Are you sure you're thinking of the same Strider I am? I think Dirk's mentioned having a brother before.

Huh? What? Maybe...? I mean, I've never actually met the guy - just his name around on the journal. Maybe I've got confused!

*She giggles a little bit at that - because that's not exactly someone that would be unusual for her to do*

Probably! As far as I can tell, Dirk isn't mad and he doesn't write poetry, and if he is mad then giving him a few projects to work on should make him feel better. Don't you think so?

Oh... Well, if your captain isn't mad then I'm sure it'll be okay for him to come take a look at the stuff. But I'll need to check with our captain first, and see what he thinks.
