This is my first time writing in this that will show to everyone rather than just whoever I replied to at the time.

So even though we have this strange coldness coming on, I thought I should introduce myself to those of you who aren't on the ship I'm on. My name is Lenalee Lee. I'm sure we'll get to know each other through these journals.

I also am using this for another reason, you see I'm trying to think up some meals that I could make so I can improve my skills. I don't want to do anything too difficult, but nothing too simple either. But I guess given what we have I wouldn't expect to do much. Although I wonder if I can make a cake as a thank you or something...

Um, that's not exactly what I had in mind.

Hey, I'm just throwin' things out there. We are surrounded by ocean, you could try fishing.

Though it'll have to be ice-fishing if this keeps up.

You must be feeling the cold to I've heard touching people or basic contact helps.

Not really. I used to hang out in the deepest parts of the ocean, where it's always bone cold.

So the cold is something you've grown use to?

You're on a ship already?

I am. I'm pretty much the cook while someone else is recovering.

How about you?

Are you a good cook?

I'm decent enough that things are edible if that's what you mean?

Oh.... well that's good too! I know this guy back home that's a really good cook.

[ren makes the best pancakes.]

That's good. Are they here too?

Erm... no, he's not here. I don't think at least. If you see a guy with a green outfit, and black hair with some pink in it, that's definitely Ren!

[he tries to act cool but ren isn't cool not at all.]

No I do not.

I don't really joke, so yes. I'm being serious.

Not really. Where I'm from there really isn't time to joke.

What do you mean by that? No time...?

Basically, where I'm from we're in the middle of a war. While we do get the occasional break, things tend to be serious around there.

Oh.... where I'm from we just.... we're in a war against monsters.

I guess my world isn't the only one at war. I'm sorry to hear about yours too.

N-no it's okay! See that's why I'm training to be a hunter, so I can be a hero and stop those things!

It's no biggie.

[She nods to herself. Okay, so she understands a bit now.]

I'm glad there are people who are willing then. [She wasn't where she is from, she still resents it sometimes, but she can't do anything. But then again all her friends are there.]

What do you mean by that...? Some people aren't willing?

[well, not like he's the best guy for the job either but he's still trying. he's not very smart or good at combat, but he's brave. that matters a bit, right?]

Where I'm from it's rare for people to actually be willing to go into battle. We're more forced against our wills.

I know of someone who was more than willing and while I admire that and understand his ideals. [She pauses for a moment.] He can be a bit of an idiot sometimes and occasionally rush into things he shouldn't do.

Oohh I see... yeah, I guess I can get that. There's a lot of normal people in my world that don't fight.

So it's not just hunters, you do have your normal everyday citizens. I guess one should expect that otherwise I guess fighters wouldn't be needed,
