[okay, so jaune was used to using his tablet in order to talk to other people and nothing like..... like this. he was able to figure it out after a long process, but he thinks he understands it now! still, he's a little confused.]

So... I take it that um... I'm nowhere near Vale anymore, am I? Uugghh.... I am so dead... what am I gonna tell my parents now?

[they won't approve of being a pirate!!]

How did I even get here....? I know I went to bed in my dorm room last night, there's no way I could sleepwalk this far!

[he would blame cardin, but he knows that guy wouldn't dare try anything like this with him. he was just so confused!]

Ruby?!

[ Weiss sounds absolutely shocked. After a couple seconds, she decides that she shouldn't be that shocked. If she's here, and Jaune's here, then it stands to reason that Ruby's here. Probably others too. She's not sure if she should hope that Blake and Yang and the rest of JNPR are here or not. If it was the case, maybe this was some kind of really abstract test. ]

What are you talking about? Why would soldiers be going after you?

Theeeeeey miiiiight sort of... think I'm a pirate.

And I guess I am now.

I am not a pirate! I would never throw myself with the likes of liars, thieves, and worse! Neither are you!

Trust me, it's not what I'm looking for! And I know our Professors would flip. But it looks like we don't really have much of a choice.

The Navy and people here sort of treat everyone from "outside" like that.

Thus the whole... "being shot at all day when I first came here" thing.

Let me get this straight. We're automatically being assumed pirates just because we ended up here against our wills? Just because I don't belong here doesn't mean that I'm going to act like one.

Where are you, Ruby?

Yeah, that's basically the case.

I mean, we don't have to act like pirates or anything. Obviously. There's folks around here that seem to just be doing their own thing while trying to figure out a way home.

...annnnd plenty of real-deal pirates too, it seems like.

But, ah, I'm at one of the inns. Just been trying to figure out what to actually do when you and Juane popped up.

[ She's glad that it doesn't sound like Ruby's joined up with another crew or anything. Ruby as leader is something Weiss can handle. She likes Ruby, as difficult as they both can be in their own ways at times. Jaune she doesn't think she can follow, even if he's here and he's technically a leader. Even then Jaune would still be better to follow than a complete stranger (though at that point, Weiss is sure she'd just try to take over as leader if Ruby wasn't here).

That aside, pirates were a problem. They were literally thieves, killers, and worse so if there were real pirates here and not just the default pirate label-type pirates, then there was a problem. A problem Weiss wanted to talk about in person. ]

How do I get to the inn from the fountain?

[Between all she's seen, she's not really sure how to TAKE half of these people anyway. So Ruby is DEFINITELY super happy to see you guys.

...and she wasn't planning on actually CALLING herself a pirate, anyway, not seriously. She's still not convinced this isn't some elaborate test concocted by Ozpin.]

...like I just told Juane, you probably don't wanna come here. It smells.

I can get to the fountain, easy!

[ Why are you hanging out somewhere that smells, Ruby? The smell better not have attached to you. ]

I'll wait here, so hurry up.

[EVERYTHING here sort of has a smell. It'll attach to you in time too, Weiss.]

Sure thing! I'll be right there.

[Really, anything for an excuse to get out of there. And seeing her friends is good, too.]

[ She'll fight it!! Probably fail. But she'll still keep trying.

Weiss is trying her best to stand out of the way, close enough to the fountain, and is narrowing her eyes at one of the pigs that are kind of wandering nearby. She had one sniffing her when she woke up and she's wary of them now, her arms crossed as she waits for Ruby. ]

WEISS!

[Ruby loudly makes her presence known as she enters the general area, and quickly runs up, possibly intruding on her personal space just a bit in her excitement.

What do you want, it's been a long few days.]

You don't know how glad I am to see- ...well, any of you!

Good, you're here, Ruby.

[ Weiss was going to take a few steps to close the distance a little, but Ruby had already done that way more than Weiss had intended, so she leans back a little bit in her spot, trying to get a little further back from Ruby without actually backing away. ]

You said you got here and were getting shot at by the Navy, right? Just how long have you been here?

[ What Weiss means to say is "Are you okay? How have you been?" It just came out more... Weiss-y. ]

[well! just as the girls were talking and everything, jaune comes running up to the two of them. he had been with weiss a little bit before, but had gone off to ask just how much money this was in their pouches.

it definitely wasn't lien, that's for sure.

he smiled when he saw both ruby and weiss though. aaah his friends!]

She's been here a couple days. Right Ruby?

[he turned to the younger girl. she had told him before they met up.]

[She spins around and hops up and down a couple times as she sees him.

Certainly, Ruby LIKED Jaune well enough. But she had never been as excited to actually see him as then, and it at least removed her a little ways from Weiss's personal space.

Getting shot at for awhile will do that to a person, really.]

Jaune! Yeah, and you should be glad you guys fell in a bit later.

[She paused.]

I mean. Not that I don't think you couldn't have handled yourselves, or anything.

[Another, much more awkward pause, where she chuckles nervously.]

Of course we could've handled ourselves!

[ Weiss's pride wasn't making that an annoying comment until Ruby pointed out that it was possible for it to be interpreted that way. Oops.

At least Weiss stops herself before it gets out of hand and tries to reign it back in .]

Still, I'm sure we all would've done better as a team.

[ And she crosses her arms, looking at Jaune and Ruby, since they're both out of her zone now. ]

[YEAH-.. they could have handled themselves. jaune? er, maybe. just a bit.

either way!]

Weiss is right, we're better off as a team. We might not have four people, or might not be with our actual team but... we gotta stick together.

[leader jaune arc at the front here.]

Ruby since you've been here a bit longer uh... what should we be ...doing here... exactly?

Ahhh, yeah about that...

[Ruby turns to the fountain, cocking her head to one side. She's thankful for the change of subject.]

Haven't really had a whole lot to do but read. So I've been reading back to what's gone on before we showed up. According to something written in the fountain here, we're supposed to search for these... shard things. Get them, and we're supposed to be able to wish our way back home. Or... something like that? That's the impression I've gotten, at least.

[She glances back at them.]

There's a whole lotta ships out there, and it's not just us who've gotten yanked in from other worlds.

That's what the fountain said and what people have been telling me, but that ruby's obviously not how we got here so there has to be another way back.

[ Weiss's main concern is that even if it's not a myth they're chasing after, chances of that ruby granting everyone's wishes isn't high. ]

I don't want to be a pirate, so I thought about trying to set up a privateer contract with the Navy but I was cautioned against that too. What do you two think?

Whoa whoa, approaching the Navy for a deal?!

[jaune's voice might have cracked at that suggestion as well.]

Yeah uh, I don't think that's a good idea. Basically I think we should.... get a ship and look for those uh. Things.

[he looked over at ruby.] Don't make fun of me if I get sick on a ship though.

Yeah, and did we miss the part where they were trying to kill me, and everyone else that showed up here when I did? They don't seem to wanna really talk with any of us.

Really, if anything, they kinda come down on any "outsiders" no matter what they're doing. Dooooooooooon't think that's gonna be working.

[She pauses, and blinks at Jaune.]

Really. Air sick AND sea sick?

That's why I was thinking we should be on their side. They're the ones in charge and not breaking the law. I don't want to be a pirate.

[ She supposes though.. ] If you really think they're that against even a parley, it doesn't look like we have a choice.

[ As for Jaune though, Weiss is just going to go ahead and take a step back. ] If you get one drop of vomit on deck I'm not speaking to you for a week!

...I'm still with Ruby on this one.

[it just seems right.] Weiss, we can have a boat and not be pirates. I'm not exactly the kind of guy that's all for... for stealing and killing. Yeah.

[GUYS?!] I'm motion sick no everything! I'll just throw up over the edge, no big deal!

And not everyone out here is for that! There's even people who want to go around protecting others instead of doing the whole pirate thing.

There's nothing to stop us from doing something like that AND searching for these stupid jewels, right?

[Slight pause, and then a long look at Jaune.]

And if you don't, just... make sure to have a mop handy. You realize we're gonna be spending a LOT of time on the water, right?

Not according to the local authorities. It was just a suggestion.

Why don't we ask around to find out if there's a place that sells medicine? If we're all going to be sleeping in the same area, I don't want to be next to vomit boy. [ She thumbs at Jaune to indicate that's him if he starts doing it and she will be calling him that until he stops. ]
