Week 10

Ye burn down a whole bloody island and ye wonder why the navy are on yer tail. Well they are and ye know who ye are. Their intent be to kill or capture and I’d prefer the first ta th’ other and no mistake. But I hope ye incomparable bastards get both. I know this hain’t yer world and ye lot are bein’ held here against yer will but remember it be one entity that be doin’ it, not the lot ‘o us. It be my world and ye don’t get to torch it to oblivion fer whatever reason ye want. The Navy will hunt ye down like the dogs ye are and even if ye come back there will be hell to pay.


Suffice ta say the Dog hain’t sufferin’ fools today so ye lot get no news, no weather. But out ‘o the kindness o’ what few ‘o ye I can actually stomach, I will be answerin’ one question. That be one. A single question. Somethin’ wi’ a hooky bit at the end. Anyone else has hooky bits they can keep it to their own selves.

[Rikka immediately sees the post and thinks to ask what happened, when two very big things click - one, that her crew still can't ask questions, and two, that if she tried to ask what happened, she'd use the question up anyway. So she bites her tongue, and cuts down her writing:]

I pray things aren't as bad as they sound. We're going to have a problem in very short order, if they are.

I can't even imagine that. Burning down an entire island, with people and houses and things - that's too cruel. I agree that they should be punished, somehow. But I don't want to be hunted and killed just because it was one of us that did it. Our colors fly because we want to bring peace - I don't want this. Not at all.

Ye won't bring peace to this world. Upstart nobodies? Bring peace to yerselves if ye can. I ain't of mind ta start a war among ye or I'd send you after those who done it.

After the last several weeks, I agree - we won't. We can't be in enough places at once, and I don't think we're strong enough. But that won't keep us from wanting to help. I may not know everyone, but I know a little bit about my captain, and I know my friends, and I know myself. Just because we can't do everything doesn't mean we won't do as much as we can, and whatever happens, I'll sleep a little bit better knowing I'm putting everything I have into it.

Aye, ye do that and wind ta yer backs. Try not ta get sunk long th' way. And it still won't save ye from bein' taken or worse by them that wants ye.

Thank you. And yes, I know our ship won't sail itself on good intentions. But it's what we have.

Better? Bloody pissed is what I am. Ye bastards are more lucky than ye know. But thank'ee fer noticin'.

Well, physically better. Things were rough for a while there, for you and for all of us. At least we're well enough to search for answers, and to keep ourselves moving.

On that note, it's probably a bad idea for us to stay on Isla Empieza any longer - I need to talk to Maribelle soon, or we're going to be in a lot of trouble.

Yes, of course. A fair amount of our crew disappeared, and- wait, now isn't the time for excuses. Thank you for the advice. I think I need to get the Shepherd moving. Now.
