I can only hope that soon all of this nasty business will finally go back to normal. Avoidin' spooky spirits loses a bit of novelty after a while. I'll take a sea monster that I can actually hit over intangible, phantasmal specters. No thanks.
[There's a bit of a pause and some recorded grunts as Akira hacks away a bit of underbrush. Scrounging up some small game to roast.]
It's funny. Between learning how to sail properly, learning how to not die at sea because we did a piss poor job of packing, and stayin' out of the line of sight of any more ghost ships, I almost forgot about home for a day. Small blessings, I guess.
You know, I didn't come here from a very good place. I was tied down, scientists poked and prodded me, and I was missin' a lot of bits and pieces. Still, at least it was predictable. Guys in white come in, question me, cut me up, and leave. Routine. Around here I never what we'll be up against next. Monsters, spirits, the Navy, maybe even some of you guys.
By the way, I'd highly recommend against the latter. Not unless you want your head twisted backward on your neck. I'm just sayin'.
