02 ♫ Voice/ Action for Queen's Gambit
[It takes a moment before humming can be heard. Sure with the weirdo things that have happened Musa seemed to be rather calm, I guess creepy things are rather a normal thing when it come to her.
After a minute she stops and all is quiet. At least until she has something to say.]
Ya know, I'm all for sailing, new learning experiences and generally dealing with weird and unusual situations. [A pause.] What I didn't expect was babysitting duty. [Sure they can probably look after themselves but they are still kids and being the only adult she felt like she had to look after them.]
It just reminds me of a certain drama queen back home and how troublesome a child could be. Sure, these kids are way more mature by about ten miles, but still. Anyone got any tips out there on how to make sure they don't get themselves into too much trouble?
[For said kids, Musa can usually be found wondering the sides of the sides to check for those damn ghost ships. Sometimes she's in her Sirenix and other times she isn't.]

[Action] let's ignore the late this is please?
Miss Musa, are there any sightings?
[Action]
Nothing to report. At least the soundwaves tell me nothing after a certain distance. So for now we're safe. [Now she can recall that if there were to be a attack, she'd be the one doing most of the fighting. Or at least she'll make sure that would be the case.]
Miss makes me sound a little old, just call me Musa.
[Action]
[She lets out a sigh and her smile widens a bit more.]
It's funny, I never would have thought that I would pray that for whatever may attack us is another pirate ship or a sea monster. Ghosts are difficult enemies to beat and Ciel and me would be mostly useless if they were to attack. I truly apologize for the troubling we're causing you.
[She had expected many things when setting sail, many dangerous things that couldn't be explained. But ghosts? Creatures which her sword could not harm? Which weren't even slowed at Ciel's bullets? No, she had never expected that, her only comfort, if it counts as one, is that if Sebastian was there he probably wouldn't have been able to do much either. Creatures like those would require powers outside of the human realm, that's for sure.
At the mention of "miss" sounding old, Elizabeth blinks and stares for a second before she realizes how rude it has been. Pink climbs to her cheeks as she covers her face in shame.]
Ah! I'm really, really sorry! It wasn't my intention to make you feel old, you're far from old in fact! I just thought it was the proper way to address to you, I didn't want to seem rude by just using your name. I'm really sorry, Musa, it won't happen again.
[It was easier back home when social status was clear and thus she knew to whom address with titles and to whom not. Here, they are all the same and she prefers to be formal and polite over being rude.]
[Action]
Now you know to expect something and when and if they make a return I'm sending you to the crows nest. [She holds her hands together lightly, using that to prop her head up as she leans on the edge. Her mind going over various bits and pieces. After a moment she turned her head... She honestly wasn't expecting her to apologize like that, she wasn't being overly serious after all. So with an apologetic look she turned around.]
It's fine, no need to apologize, but I shouldn't of said it in that way. I'm not actually use to being called Miss, so it's odd.
[Action]
[The good thing about Elizabeth is that she won't complain about being sent away for her safety, specially when she knows she can't do anything. But in her, a part of her pride hurts for being unable to be of any help.
Musa's reply to her apology calms her a bit, though she still casts her gaze down ashamed.]
No. You said what you had to and the way you needed to. It is truly my fault, I should have been more mindful of your comfort, I thought that I was being polite and proper but... I should have asked you how you preferred to be addressed rather than make assumptions.
I understand how it may be odd if you are not used to it, so it's okay. From now on I will conduct myself properly when addressing you and for the future meetings I may have. Thank you for making me realize this.
[She's being honest and sincere, thinking about it indeed the best course of action would have been to ask what was preferred. Or to drop any and all titles and pretenses. It's ironic, she didn't expect to be addressed to with titles -much less the proper ones- while in this place, but somehow she had deemed correct to address with those to others, disregarding cultural differences and their own comfort. It made her seem truly careless about others.]
[Action]
I don't mind, it's always best to act the way in which you feel most comfortable. One shouldn't be forced to do or speak in a way they don't like.
[Action]
You are right, but really it's no trouble for me to address you in whichever way you prefer. So long as I don't come off as rude I don't mind.
[She smoothes wrinkles on her dress for a moment before looking at the sea.]
Do you think that the islands are being attacked by those ghosts as well?
[Action]
You don't seem rude to me at all. You act more like a princess would and I know they aren't rude. [Unless you count Stella sometimes of course.]
Who knows, probably. It does look like they aren't leaving one place unturned, but if they have trees on the island, then we'll at least be safe.
[Action]
[Elizabeth laughs at that, blushing slightly because really to be told that makes her extremely happy. She always tries her best, to be a precious elegant and well mannered doll, like a princess, but she knows that her own character often gets the best of her, and it terrifies her that it ruins her appearance. Then again, it may just be that Musa is more forgiving and tolerant than other people, like say her own mother, she really was strict regarding manners... And everything else.]
Uhmmm, then I guess it may actually be better to remain on the sea for now. At least until this unnatural fog vanishes, I really hope it will do so soon. It's really unsettling.
[Action]
What is your father like anyway?
[She moved for a moment, thinking maybe something was out there, but this fog wasn't going to lift anytime soon and that was worrying.]
We don't know what is out there. it's probably more dangerous to be out at sea for risk of crashing into rocks or another ship.
[Action]
He's a great man. He's strong and determined, loyal to his country and his family, a man of duty who would never turn his back on it even at the cost of his own life. And he's fearless because of that, I... I don't think he has any regrets, not even small ones, because he's always true to himself and doesn't let the world dictate his thoughts and emotions.
Many men would have been terrified of my mother, they would not have wanted a wife that could best them in combat or who would scold them when they do something wrong. But my father isn't like that, he fell in love with her and courted her after she bested him in a match, and no matter how much she refused he didn't stop until she accepted. And he loves my brother and me dearly, he's always there when I need him, doing his best to support us and always ready to remind us that he loves us and that he's proud of us.
[He doesn't judge Elizabeth for her talent with the sword, instead he cheers for her and is so proud that she has said talent. And he has his flaws, of course, but none of them matters when faced with his virtues. It's clear that she loves him dearly and is honoured of being his daughter. Even if she also loves Ciel and it will be an honour to take his name as his wife, she knows that there will be some sadness in abandoning her father's name when the time comes. Even if she will always be a Midford at heart as well as a Phantomhive.]
What about your father? Does he love music as you do?
[At the comment about the risks of being out at sea, Elizabeth can do little else besides nodding.]
You are right, I had not considered that. But if we try to approach land, won't we face the same risks? We could go directly to the rocky side of an island if we do that.
[Action]
He does, he worked in the music business when he met my mom and they fell in love at first sight. [She started to play with her fingers slightly.] Although... when she died when I was younger he... destroyed every instrument he had and banned music at home. it wasn't until I threw a concert and even after the threats that he accepted music back. [She closed her eyes, it felt like not too long ago, but it had been three years since then.]
But he is a really loving father, one I wouldn't trade for the world anyway.
[She shakes her head slightly.]
Not if I use my soundwaves he wouldn't.
[Action]
I see... It must have been hard for you both, during those years after your mother's death. He must have been really hurt if he reacted like that, I can't imagine how much pained he had to be. And you as well both because of your loss and his decisions. I'm glad things are solved now between you both now.
It was really brave of you to threw a concert even against your father's wishes... I'm not sure I would be able to do that if I was in your position.
[She's slightly puzzled by the soundwaves comment.]
Uh? How could the soundwaves help?
[Action]
But also one learns a lot from tragic circumstances. I've learn that my mom, while not here anymore will always be apart of me and that if I ever got the choice to bring her back. I wouldn't, because I know it would be the wrong thing to do.
[Action]
[That the person you love the most wouldn't be taken from you before you even have a chance to grow up.
Tragedy had taught her a value lesson, not that those who are gone will always be part of her, but that nothing is forever, nothing is granted, not even when your social status screams about having everything you may want or need. All those moments she expected to be repeated again and again as she grew up, Aunt Angelina's chats and advice about how to be a lady, the games played together with Ciel and his parents...
Elizabeth blinks and shakes her head as she looks at the horizon and then at Musa, noticing her slightly nervous and wary.]
We're still safe, right?
[She doesn't ask if something is wrong, or if there's something out there, at least not directly. Musa has made it clear that if she saw or heard something dangerous she would send both Ciel and her to the crow's nest. Elizabeth is still standing on the deck and not up there so clearly things have to still be peaceful to a certain degree.]
[Action]
[She at least had to learn a lot even after her mothers death, she believes they teach us even if they aren't there, like her mother was still with her.]
Besides, even after death they're with you in your heart and they still teach you lessons.
[She nods, she felt confident that nothing was out there.]
We're still safe for the meantime, but there is something a distance away. I just can't tell what yet.
[Action]
Her eyes survey the horizon, but she can't see anything and without magical powers like Musa she's just completely blind and deaf basically.]
Is it coming our way?
[Action]
[She couldn't quite put her finger on yes or no. It didn't help that her ability's here were still somewhat limited. It was annoying and bothersome and if she ever found who causes it, she would give them a piece of her mind.]
I think it's still, which is kind of worrying.
[Action]
[She offers the thought weakly, with little hope on it herself but a smile on her lips, trying to be positive and think the best instead of the worst.]
[Action]
[Just going to give the young girl the hope that it isn't anything, but she isn't certain if it be the truth or not.]
