Captain's Log 1
[In blue ink there's a very flowing script from someone who clearly has no idea that this is public.]
Captains Log
Day 1 of being Captain
Teleported to strange island. Green fountain is the only clue, flying the nearby area didn't help figure out location. If it's in the New World, it's not one of Whitebeard's islands.
Surrounded by noisy idiots who are no help.
Still miss Pops.

[It's probably a good thing that this is written or else it would be hard to hear Boris over the purring.]
What's it like being a pirate?
Written
Where are you from?
[He can't really begin to explain what being a pirate is like, because well, that's a varied question and sort of like asking what the sky is like to someone who's never seen or experienced it in any form before. It's big.]
Written
[Oh god so much purring. He is writing to a pirate!! A MOTHER FUCKIN PIRATE! Best. Day. EVER!]
Wonderland.
Written
What's Wonderland like?
Written
Wonderland? First off there is only two countries to my knowledge and within each country there always must be a three factions and 12 Role-Holders. [But he is sure that this pirate doesn't care about this type of stuff.] I think the only thing that might interest a pirate is that everyone has a clock instead of a heart.
Written
[He's just gonna rub his temples for a bit. Admittedly this seems a little strange even by Marco's standards, and his concerns that it might be a dream.] What are the Role-Holders? [Actually he doesn't even question the clock thing because, eh, he's seen Pacifista. So long as you aren't shooting lasers out of your hands and mouths at Marco's family, he doesn't care.]
Written.
Role-Holders? [Strange thing to focus the question on.] We are... You know, the only ones with faces and a name. Each holder has a job that they must perform with the role and the rules and laws are much more strict with us.
Written.
I see. Who decides the roles and laws?
Written.
Wonderland itself and the Joker enforces them. There is no where were you can escape them should you break a rule.
[Hence why until he knows for sure that their reach can reach here, he is gonna be obeying rules, kthx.]
Written.
That sounds fairly unpleasant.
Written.
Its the way it works. The only thing that is important are the roles which the role-holders hold. But they can be just as easily replaced and have someone else take up their role.

[That's a new thought. Were they slaves? But this was how it always have been.]
You would hurt the old fart's feelings. One of the role-holders owns an amusement park so if he read that it might hurt his feels.
[Okay, a bit more serious note.]
How are we like slaves?

What do you get out of the arrangement other than survival?

Re: Written.
What happens if you try to leave?
Written.
[Cuz, seriously. What the heck is this pirate talking about?]
We don't leave. But the Joker will come and punish us since it would be against the rules. I would probably lose my face and name before getting killed.
[Seriously, this is normal stuff.]
Written.
I think we can safely use slave as an adequate word to describe that situation then.
Written.
Maybe to an Outsider it may look like that but it has always been this way for us for as long as Wonderland existed. We are free to do what we want to do as long as we follow our roles and the rules.
[He is seriously confused. Just obey the rules and to do whatever you want, even killing one another. It's easy to do.]
Written.
[Still sounds like slavery to him.]
Written.
[Hnnnnnnng, he is already so bored with this line of talking. Maybe this pirate is a very dull and boring pirate.]
You still haven't really told me what it's like to be a pirate.
