[Winry sounds agitated.]

All right, so there's a fog coming, and something's in the fog. Is that right? That's what I thought I read from Mr. Dog's last letter to everyone.

What could be in the fog that could hurt us?

And what did he mean, cursed?

Don't worry yourself too much, miss. Whatever happens will happen and we'll like as not find a way around it. We should be glad we at least got fair warning since that rarely happens.

[voice]

[hands4healing]

That's...very kind of you, sir. Thank you.

[A little pause.]

We've talked before, haven't we? I'm Winry.

[And remembers.]

With the Panthress.

Aye. I remember. The Panthress is a good name for a ship. Got a good crew? Know reasonably well what you're doing?

[voice]

[hands4healing]

[Her grin shows through her voice.]

I think we'll be all right. And we're learning!

[voice]

[thatched]

[Rookies in other words. Ouch. He'd offer to help but there were plenty of rookies of his own to take care of before their ship was ready to face stronger seas-- and who knew what this world had to offer]

A few words of advice, then. Get organized. Make sure everyone has a job on the ship and knows what to look out for. Added to that, make sure that they know at least one other job so if you should lose someone, you're not adrift. Keep a close eye on food, water and fishing gear--

But most importantly, don't give up. Give up and your dead for sure. You may squeak by with the skin of your teeth. Possible, you might die in any case, but it's better to die while fighting your hardest rather then to just lay down and let it take you.

I don't think we can give up. [She sounds a little stern, but more at herself than anything.] We have people waiting for us, don't we? And we want to make them proud.

I know we don't know...anything. But I'll make sure everyone knows how to do something! And there aren't that many of us, so it'll be easy for us to keep organized. [She hopes.]

Mr. Thatch, right? [And now Winry remembers his name.] Thank you for your help. Again!

It's nothing, sweet lady, but...listen. Once I get these guys settled over here, I'll come over and give you a hand for a while. Teach you the ropes and what-not. is that agreeable?

[voice]

That...that would be...[Great!, she wants to say. But what would Ed say? would he be all right with it?]

I should talk to the crew, first. But even if they're not interested, maybe I could come and learn there? If that's all right with you and your crew!

[voice]

I'll have to ask before I can say either way. We're at full capacity as is and our captain can be somewhat... [he made a noise that could be interpreted several different ways. He didn't want Ace to pull them into trouble and for her to get in over her head.]

We'll work something out.
