I have a pressing issue that I have been struggling to find an appropriate answer to for some time. Sadly, the one I would normally propose such questions to is incapacitated at the moment, and is the reason for such concerns to begin with.

[He's also the one that she would have trusted to help her figure out how to do filters and locks and the sort with. Unfortunately, everyone gets to see her question:]

What is the appropriate human response when one suspects one's crew mate of wrong doing?

[Bloody Roses, three guesses whom she's referring to, though you won't need all three.]

[He started to lie down on his side, being careful not to go on any areas that were wounded. He slightly winced before getting his head on the pillow, keeping eye contact on the goddess.]

What happens now?

[Izanami paused to consider that. What indeed? Yu was in no shape to go off on his own, and there was no guarantee he would be well enough by the time they reached the next isle.]

…I will do all in my limited power to ensure your release from this ship, as I promised. For now, you will need to rest and recover, and not continue to injure yourself further by moving around.

[He wants to now since Rise has shown up in this world but how would he explain things to the people he didn't dislike? Like Lila? She probably wouldn't take his leaving too well again unless he explained himself. Even then, probably not going to go well.]

I've been meaning to ask this; if I'm resting, who's been cooking all this time?

…a-ah…

[Izanami had the grace to look embarrassed, especially since the mention of food made her stomach twist on itself and let out a particularly unhappy noise. Did you need more of an answer than that, Yu?]

…well. The others do make a valiant attempt at it…

[If you've been wondering why you've been brought food that did not need to be cooked… that would be why.]

At least no one passed out from it.

[Uh yeah. Mystery Food X is no go.]

Yet. We will certainly have to scout out a replacement cook as soon as we arrive on the next isle…

[She glanced away, eyes drifting toward her journal to read over the new responses, though she wasn't really focusing on them. Strange how she had no desire to see him leave, nevermind he needed to. She would never say as much though.]

...yeah...

[Why did he sound different about all of this? It showed slightly in his voice but mostly lost to anyone who didn't know him too well. Everyone on this ship...just confuses the hell out of him too much. He should run, meet up with Rise, and start anew. But his feelings...he didn't even know what now.]

[…suddenly her little room felt grossly cramped.]

[Izanami frowned to herself, but refused to let her discomfort show beyond that. It felt like the walls had closed in around her and were strangling the breath out of her. She wanted to throw open the door and flee the room, but really, she shouldn't be the one to leave. It was all the child's fault, bringing this oppressive atmosphere into her sanctuary!]

[Finally she stood, unable to take it any longer, though as she turned to him, her words died in her throat.]

…regardless of my suspicions, I have duties to attend to. Stay here and rest; if I find you up and about, I will ask Lila to divine a way to tie you to your bed.

[…that was an acceptable recovery. Of course it was.]

[...what the hell just happened? Why is she suddenly running out after making a post like that? Or was it because he was in her room?]

It's alright, I can go.

Do you not listen?

[Answer: no.]

Stay.

[And do not argue with her, or she will barricade the door.]

And you seem to be running away.

[He's a blunt idiot, what can you say? He slowly gets to his feet and keeping a hand steady on the nearest sturdy thing.]

I managed to get here without hurting myself, it'll be ok. I can go.

[Izanami let out an awkward noise, almost looking like he kicked her puppy or something of the like, before quickly masking it with anger.]

I am not the one that needs to be coddled here!

[She marched over to him, shoving him back down onto the bed. Internally she flinched -- well this was counter productive -- but dammit, why did these children never listen?!]

You will rest, and you will recover by the time we reach port! I will not tolerate you deliberately injuring yourself further!

[Stubborn like other people. Or gods. He didn't want to intrude any further and thought that it would be better for him to go back to his room. That is until she shoved him back down on the bed.

Congratulations Izanami, you just heard Yu drop different swears than when he was going after Adachi. Because he was still in pain and he landed right on his stitched areas.]

Not...trying!

[Owowowowowowowowowowowowowowowowfuck!]

[She managed to maintain her angered expression throughout his cursing, before she finally relented, she posture relaxing slightly. She reached over, taking the overlay that had been part of her kimono, draping it over him, like the blanket she was now using it for.]

Why must you make everything so difficult?

[Like someone else she knew. She let out a sigh, shaking her head.]

Rest, and sleep here tonight. [She paused, before a faint smirk twitched at her lips.] I will take your quarters.

[That way she knows you will stay put!]

[If she felt trapped, then he felt much worse. More like when he wanted to try and do something right, it's shot down. That and he felt more like a little kid.]

You make it sound like I'm the only one.

[And because it wasn't more awkward for them to sleep in each other's rooms. How much will they hear about this? ~~Besides, he took a habit of sleeping out on the deck.~~]

[She could deal with the talks when they came up; right now, she was much more worried about his well being. Izanami let out a breath, sitting down beside him.]

Child, it is difficult enough for me to sleep at night.

[Sleeping was too... peaceful, quiet; too much like death. If she was supposed to be "alive" here, she really didn't want the reminder.]

Please allow me one less thing to worry over.

[He doesn't want to and by agreeing, he felt like he was giving up. But both of them would be at it all night if they could. And most likely would. He couldn't help but sigh , attempting not to pull the cover up over just to make her happy.]

...if it's one less thing then.

[It was a rare thing, but a faint, gentle smile came to Izanami's face. After a moment, she rested a hand on his shoulder.]

There is no need for you to be stubborn over everything, child. The more you rest, the sooner you will be away from here once we reach port.

[Logic: she does have it! She lingered for a moment, before finally standing and going to leave.]

[He couldn't say much more as she left the room. Whatever it was, it left a bad taste in his mouth for some reason. Why was it that everytime he tried to do something nice in his mind, he gets bit in the ass?

And only with her. Ugh, seriously.]

[On the other side of the door, Izanami paused... before letting out a breath as she leaned against it, covering her face with her hands. Such a frustrating child... just like...]

...I swear, you created that boy for the express purposes of torturing me, Izanagi.

[She finally moved away then, going to find some place else to sit with her journal.]
