My name is Vanitas. I wield a Keyblade and I am the student of the greatest Keyblade Master there ever was; Master Xehanort. I'm looking to join the crew with the strongest fighters.

I said I'm the student of the greatest. Master Xehanort has done more with the keyblade than any master that came before.

And I don't know why you haven't heard of him. Might because this is a backwater world.

He wanted to reshape the universe and stuff. Time travel was part of it. Involved throwing his body away or something. It was boring. He talks a lot.

I guess. The way he talked about it wasn't. It was too big a concept for me to really take seriously, you know?

Not that it mattered. I was a tool for that end. I didn't mind, I got to have some good fights along the way.

Just because I think he's boring and has concepts bigger than me doesn't mean he's not great.

Student, tool, what's the difference? I was a means to end, and I didn't care. We wanted the same thing, just different reasons.
