Oi. Don't wanna make any assumptions, so I'm gonna ask. Anybody else's crew get leaflets dropped all around their ship? I fished a couple outta the water and they're all the same - somethin' about some feast at a place I ain't heard of.

People know anything about 'Haus?' It sounds like a good deal but after the ghosts, I'm a little leery about feasts laid open to all-comers. Unless this is tradition? Anybody here last year remember a thing like this?

...I do miss the harvest festivals at home, but I ain't leadin' my crew into a trap.

I have no idea what you're talking about, Kitty. I mean I'm just here innocently reading about an island called Haus that has treasure. But I'm sure you'd rather talk to the other crews about it.

But to answer your questions, yes I saw those stupid leaflets, yes I know a few things about Haus that isn't on said leaflet, yes a feast does sound like a fun idea but I don't trust it, no I have no idea if this is a tradition because there's no mention of it in my collection of books

and I miss celebrating festivals too, not like it matters.

I don't know that it's tradition, but last year around this time we did have turkeys dropped on our ships. Live turkeys. And other food. Perhaps this is similar, only all the food is in one place.

Though, I guess it ain't the first or last time food's been dropped on the ship. You got a point.

I'll leave it to all o' ya to decide if we wanna chance it or not. I'd be real surprised if no islands in this world had any kind of festivals this time of year, so if this is how they do it, then it's probably harmless and I'm probably just paranoid.

Yes. [Total verbal eye roll in his tone.] It's odd because turkeys this time of year are a very American thing in my world. They're silly that way. The food was good, though.

[And there was certainly a lot of it.]

Anyway, I don't care if we go or not, I'll leave it to the others to decide. I'm not sure about other festivals, but you might get another one of those bloody weird ships going around and dropping things off in about a month's time. That's when the real holidays start.

So there is some kinda holiday. Huh. See, I didn't know that.

It's...well, not important really. America is a country in my world. They have some holiday where they worship turkeys and celebrate that they didn't starve years and years ago because some people showed up and gave them food. And then they proceeded to wipe all those people out or something, but I digress.

Aside from that, there's Christmas. But that's not for another month.

Weird. Guess it takes all kinds, eh?

Well, we'll see what happens, then. If people wanna go, we'll go, and if they don't wanna risk the feast, they can stay on the ship. Get things straightened up, eh?

If the food is as good as advertised, then I'll go. I could use some variety after the months spent here. I'll let someone else have at it first, though. Perhaps one of the other crews.

[Here's Gaius, eying one of the fliers that he'd found on the deck. He flips it between his fingers, giving a slight wave with it as he sees Gan Ning.]

You getting that kinda vibe too, eh? Sounds great and all, but I can't help but feel a little suspicious about a free meal of this size.

[saunters on over] Yeah, that was my feelin' too. But Cyn says she wants to go, because apparently there's good chances at treasure on the island - that don't require gettin' married.

Well, that's a small plus at least. Won't be all that fun lookin' for treasure if the place is already potentially drawing a crowd for a free feast though...

Maybe. But a crowd at a feast means we won't be alone if it's a trap. And, hey, if it's a good feast, it'll be worth the headache.

Uh...wouldn't that just mean a lot more will get trapped if that's the case?

[He shrugs, scratching his head.]

Well, you're the captain. If the crew's fine with it, then I guess we can see what this is all feast thing's about.

At least then they can't complain, right?

You're the only one who thinks like I do, everybody else sounds like they wanna give it a try. We might be in trouble, but eh, we've been through worse and come through together. I know you guys won't let me down, and I won't let any of ya down either.

I think that goes for any of the crew. If anything happens, we've got each others' back.

I can hang back on the ship with whoever might not wanna go to keep an eye out on things while we're there.
