I don't suppose any of you lot has ever kept a parrot before? Is there any way to, er, unteach something once they've learned it?
[Letting Mitsunari parrot-sit Pi-chan may not have been the wisest of ideas.]
That aside, have any other crews given thought to setting up shop on an island? It's quite difficult to get done what I'd like to get done with this constant sailing from place to place with nowhere to return to. A pirate needs a proper base, after all.
[Home is where you hang your giant shark.]

[He couldn't help but scowl a bit at that. Aside from Zozo, that first crew of his was completely worthless. How they ever stayed afloat was a mystery.]
That's a bit more pressing than dancing, no doubt. Usually I'm the first to build something, why do you need a machine for music? Drums and flutes suit sailors fine.

[She let out a giggle.]
I'll ask around to see if anyone can purify and ward the ship, then!
[She pursed her lips in thought.]
We don't have any drums and flutes, do we? Besides, you'll love modern music when you hear it. ♥
[Modern meaning 1987.]

[He was a bit lost at this point. His role the whole "jukebox" scheme was to figure out how to provide a power source, but provide him with a machine to think about and he had to know how it worked and what he could do with it. He was an engineer as much as he was a pirate.]

[Kodachi was already excited about this idea. Jukebox or gramophone or whatever it was. She didn't want to play instruments all day just to have music.]

[He was completely lost.]
And no one sings or plays instruments?
[That sounded horrible.]
What a bleak thing that is.

[She had to giggle at how glum he pictured the future of music to be.]
Once you hear it, you'll be surprised.

[Actually, he's completely lost, but he at least understands how that part works. How it would work on a ship this size isn't so easy, but he's a brilliant engineer, so nothing is beyond his ability.]
Perhaps we need to make a visit to that island with all the clockwork and steam power...what's-it-called...strange name, I believe it was...
[This is one of those times when it would pay to pay attention to the journal, which Motochika doesn't. At all.]
no subject
Oh! I don't know what it's called either . . . but I've heard about it!
[This is the same girl that gave Ace directions to Anygrav Moon by drawing an arrow in the journals. One arrow.]
But you'll help me?
[Sparkles!]

[Once they got to Aeolipile, it was going to be difficult to get Motochika to leave. The only reason he didn't live there already was because he hadn't set foot on it yet. The crew, for the most part, had been spared Motochika's inventing and tinkering, but it had been quite some time since he'd had a chance to build anything exciting and he was starting to miss it terribly.]

[She all but beamed at him. It was so nice to have someone to do what she wanted, ohohohoho.]
